We accidentally made our reservation with a Thursday check in for 2 nights, instead of Wednesday. Jan said we could move our reservation up a day, if we would pay more for Wednesday, which was fine. The day before check in, as instructed we called the property manager, Cami and left her a voicemail. The next day we still hadn’t heard from Cami, so we messaged Jan and only then did we finally receive the instructions via text from Cami. We also let Jan know that our flight was delayed, which she said wasn’t a problem. We arrived at the property and left almost immediately, due to health and safety concerns. There was black mold in the shower, the dishwasher had thick black mold around the filter, the air vents were extremely dirty, and the sliding patio door couldn't be locked or secured due to a portable a/c unit that was attached. We arrived at 8 pm, left by 8:20 and immediately reached out to Cami and sent pictures. We also sent Jan a message through VRBO. Once again, Cami never responded, and Jan didn’t reply until 4 am. Jan’s response essentially stated that we never reached out to Cami, and it was our choice not to stay in the condo. She said we should have allowed them to fix the issues. (Again, we left the condo at 8:20 pm and could not reach Cami or Jan. The first response we got back was 7-8 hours later.) We had everything documented with texts, emails and photos and thankfully VRBO was able to resolve the issue for us.
