Step off the back patio at Solace House and walk straight into Joshua Tree National Park, ten secluded acres of Joshua trees and mountains behind you. Swim and soak through the afternoon, then gather in the sunken fire pit as the pool lights come on. Inside, limewashed walls, dark wood and stone glow under paper lanterns. Three king suites and a queen in one of two homes on the land, with nothing shared.
The Space:
-Respecting the Desert & Dark Skies-
This home sits adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park and is surrounded by incredible wildlife, natural beauty, and some of the darkest night skies in Southern California. To help preserve this special environment and be considerate of our neighbors, we kindly ask all guests to keep music, conversations, and other noise at a respectful level throughout their stay.
This is not a party house. Please do not book this property if you are planning to party.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. All music must be turned off by 10:00 PM, and conversations should be kept at a low volume to avoid disturbing neighbors and wildlife. Only the property's built-in Sonos sound system may be used. Portable speakers, DJ equipment, amplified sound systems, and other external audio devices are strictly prohibited. Excess noise can result in county fines that will be passed on to you as the guest and the termination of your reservation without refund.
In support of Joshua Tree’s Dark Sky Ordinance and to minimize light pollution, all exterior landscape lighting automatically turns off at 9:00 PM each evening. For your convenience, we provide lanterns to help you safely navigate the outdoor areas after dark.
Thank you for helping us be good stewards of this unique desert environment. We look forward to hosting you and hope you enjoy a peaceful and memorable stay.

-Outdoor Amenities-
Lace up early and walk from the backyard directly into Joshua Tree National Park while the light is still low. Come back to the pool, which faces the mountains and desert, and sink into a floor lounger at the water's edge, or claim an Adirondack chair on the deck. The in-ground hot tub sits alongside for whenever the air turns cool.
In the afternoon, unroll a mat on the open-air pad for yoga, meditation or a private sound bath. Fire up the gas BBQ and set the large outdoor dining table beneath the overhang, then step down into the sunken conversation fire pit beside the pool as the sky goes dark. Before bed, lie back on the stargazing net bed out in the open desert. The primary suite has its own patio with an outdoor shower for a morning rinse under open sky.
-Living Area-
On cool evenings, light the large tiled gas fireplace and settle into the deep sofas beneath warm wood ceilings and a paper lantern. Limewashed walls, a glass display wall and artwork keep the eye moving, while large windows hold the mountains in view. Put a playlist on the Sonos sound system or a film on the large Frame TV, and pull out the books and board games. Yoga mats and blocks are ready for the morning.
-Kitchen and Dining-
Brew a French press or a pot on the drip coffee maker, with coffee, tea and sugar provided, and pull up to the Brazilian quartzite island. Dark cabinetry hides integrated appliances, and the kitchen is stocked with cookware, utensils, olive oil and plenty of spices. A wet bar with its own desert window is set for an evening drink. Gather at the dining table beneath a lantern pendant before a wall of windows, or carry dinner outside to the long table facing the landscape.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Three bedrooms each have a king bed, a private ensuite bathroom, built-in clothing storage and a desk, so everyone has a quiet corner for an email or a journal. One suite pairs its king bed with gold artwork and gold pillows, another sits beneath a branch sculpture, and a third faces a textured wall lit by woven sconces. The primary king suite opens to a private patio with an outdoor shower, so you can step outside before the rest of the house wakes. Ensuites are finished with stone vanities, a blue tile shower in one and warm wood tones in another. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed with a woven headboard and uses the full hallway bathroom, which also serves the shared spaces.
-Surrounding Area-
Joshua Tree National Park begins at the edge of the property, so early walks and golden-hour hikes start at the back door. Downtown Joshua Tree is close by for restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and galleries, and local experiences include guided hikes, rock climbing, horseback riding, stargazing, sound baths, yoga and massage.
