"With all of the stellar reviews, we expected to fall in love with this place. Sadly, it just didn’t meet our expectations. The good: Large, clean rooms. Beautiful grounds. Helpful, genuine staff. The pools were very nice. They went above and beyond there - pool staff would even come by and clean your sunglasses for you. The pool concierge helping set up your chairs was nice. Food was decent, but I’ll write more bad than good unfortunately. I will say the lamb chops and tiramisu was wonderful at Portofino. Also enjoyed the coconut shrimp at Oceana. Great food options The bad: Upon checking in, we were approached by management in the lobby to “address our behavior last night”. Once I told them we just arrived 5 mins ago, they realized they thought we were someone else. Later we were told they’d make up for it with a bottle of wine - but we never received it. Started the trip off weird. On our last day, it seemed our room was assigned to someone else. Our tv had their name on the welcome screen. Again, left us with an uneasy feeling. With all of the rave reviews about the food, we expected better. I would give the breakfast Buffett a 5/10 for selection and variety. Dinner was just ok everywhere. Mostly though the complaint is that this hotel is boring! There’s pretty much nothing to do but hangout at the pool or beach. And the evening entertainment is pretty bland. I would say this resort caters to ages 50+. If you’re younger than that, find somewhere a little more upbeat."

"This was our first time to an all inclusive package in Cancun, and as a family with 2 little kids, not having done this before, I was a bit anxious. With that said, today as we are leaving Cancun, we are sad to leave as the kids had a lot of fun, and the stay was incredible. The staff were polite, welcoming, and always attentive to every little detail. The food was delicious and plenty of choices for us. We were upgraded to a room with an ocean view and it was gorgeous. The room was clean, very well maintained, and very spacious as space is what I need for my family. I shouldn’t even call it a room as it was more like a one bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. The apartment was quiet and no matter what was happening outside, or next door, I never head anything and we slept pretty good. All in all, pretty pleased and quite a beautiful experience. I highly recommend."

"Avid at the Pure bar is pretty cool. Also the large circle lobby bar that opens at 3 has the strongest drinks- heads up. Lots of fun activities to plan your day around. The picana at the steakhouse is what you want to order when you go there TRUST ME. All in all a good time"

"Room - 4/5: Our room was spacious and probably as clean as it could be. Some of the furniture (e.g. sofa and chair) is fabric so I can imagine it's hard to get some of the stains and marks out. We had a few issues with the shower water temp - on the first night we could only get cold water and on subsequent nights we could only get warm/hot water. Food 3.75-4/5: Coming from Canada, the food at the buffet and restaurants is not mindblowingly amazing, but definitely above average and quite good for Mexico. We liked the Surf & Turf restaurant the most (order the ribeye and shrimp!). The seafood medley grill, which has mussels, scallops and squid, from the buffet is great during lunchtime. Also highly recommend the fresh coconuts from the juice bar between 12-2 p.m. Notable mentions: tacos from the food truck, iced vanilla lattes and frappes from Sweet Corner. Service 5/5: All the servers and staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities 5/5: The resort felt well thought out and never too crowded. We liked that every building has a big pool that they can easily access, in addition to the main pool near the centre of the resort. The beach had soft sand and veeery little seaweed/sargassum - very swimmable. The grounds are well manicured and maintained."

"Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour au Majestic Mirage. L’hôtel est superbe, très propre, bien entretenu et les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. La plage est belle et il y avait toujours assez de chaises disponibles, ce qui est très apprécié. Un merci particulier à nos butlers, Lalo et Luis. Ils ont été extrêmement sympathiques, disponibles et efficaces tout au long de notre séjour. Ils répondaient rapidement à nos demandes et s’assuraient que tout se passe bien, sans jamais être insistants ou harcelants. Leur présence a vraiment ajouté à notre expérience. Nous avons aussi croisé plusieurs autres employés exceptionnels durant la semaine. Il y en a tellement qui mériteraient d’être mentionnés qu’il serait difficile de tous les nommer, mais leur gentillesse et leur professionnalisme n’ont pas passé inaperçus. La nourriture a été une très belle surprise. Nous avons particulièrement aimé les sushis frais préparés le midi au buffet, ainsi que la grande variété de choix offerte chaque jour. Les restaurants à la carte étaient excellents, avec un service attentionné et des repas de qualité. Nous avons apprécié la diversité des options et n’avons jamais eu de difficulté à trouver quelque chose qui nous faisait envie. En résumé, nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs. Merci à toute l’équipe du Majestic Mirage pour cette belle semaine, nous n’hésiterions pas à revenir."
