Very clean, all recently remodeled. Comfortable beds. We stayed in a quad room and had plenty of space for the 4 of us and our suitcases. New road to property that currently isn't mapping correctly.

The guesthouse is right off Route 1 and about 2 miles outside of Hofn. The rooms are well-maintained and reasonably spacious. There is a large kitchen/dining area with enough tables to eat or work. There are 1.5 baths downstairs and one bathroom upstairs. It is easy to get on Route 1 to drive to different destinations. It is also an easy drive into Hofn to get dinner or groceries, but not necessarily walkable.

It is a nice place but a little bit outside of walking distance from town. I really enjoyed the coffee from the complimentary espresso machine.

Clean room and bathroom! Kitchen with lots of utensils and coffee machine working amazingly! The only mildly inconvenience I had was with a group of guests arriving late and being loud to which i reached out to staff and they immediately responded and came over to talk to them, and they were quiet after that. Although other peoples noises are not something the property can anticipate, they acted right away while many other places I stayed couldn’t care less! Thanks Nina, your rock!

Nice views but not fancy

Guesthouse with nice views. Shared bathroom which were too busy in the mornngs. Also shared kitchen with 2 small fridges. It was okay, junky outside the bldg. Owners could be more available. I waited outside for extra pillows. Someone went in but nevver came out again.

An absolute dump. Paid close to 400 US for a place not as nice as my freshman year dorm. Should take some of the exorbitant fee to reinvest in building and rooms. Of course sleeping here was better than sleeping in your car or outside but that’s about it. For those who have limited options, I guess stay here.

We stayed at Guesthouse Hafnarnes for one night during our ring road driving trip recently. This was the only accommodation that we had to share bathroom with more than 10 other people. And they wouldn’t allow cancellation more than 1 month before the trip. The price this place was charging was one of the highest among all of hotels we booked for this trip. Definitely overpriced. But I have to say the property was so beautiful, I got up early in the morning and was able to take some most beautiful pictures of the area for the entire trip.

On the upside, the interior (the bedrooms and kitchen/dining area) were clean and there was plenty of seating for dining. But the exterior feels like it is slowly turning into a junkyard - it was full of old/rusty vehicles/farm equipment, there was a rusty chimenea full of trash out front, and multiple trash bags were piled up under the stairs leading up to the guesthouse. The shower in the guesthouse was leaky and clogged and there were wires ripped out of the walls and an unfinished window in the shoe removal area. With some cleanup and proper care this place could be perfectly fine, but as it is now, I found it off-putting and would look elsewhere for a place to stay.

Its location near Höfn (no other town within an 100 miles in either direction) was a definite positive. The downside is that lodging in the Southwest is very expensive in the summer high season. It has shared bathroom facilities. They were well-maintained. Also the common kitchen had good amenities.

The address on Expedia made us drive into town, which is why I booked it because it was downtown right beside a restaurant that we wanted to go to after driving all day and then the address wasn’t that we had to look online to find the real address and found out that it was 10 minutes out of town not ideal
