"There are nice tavernas nearby (2km).The kitchen riddled with so many ants that we did not eat in the villa. Photos are very old and do not match reality ,the pool cannot be seen from the villa (overgrown trees). Gardens are unkempt. Every villa overlooks another no privacy so close you could almost shake hands,"

"This was the third time in succession we stayed at Villa Ariadne. The location, peaceful seclusion and magnificent relaxation draws us back. The Villa is spotlessly clean, very well equipped, everything you might need, is provided. Great location for exploring the area, Chania a short drive away, there are lots of walks starting right outside the front gate! Lovely beach in Kalyves, Kera beach our favorite has a lovely location. The pool is extremely well kept and always clean and inviting. The gardens surrounding the villa are a great attraction, offering endless opportunities to admire and enjoy the great variety of plants and shrubs, another paradise. The night time scent from the Jasmine is wonderful. There is very secure and safe parking in a gated area with a carport that keeps the car cool on the hottest of days. Gavalochori a short walk, has a two fantastic tavernas, Monica's and Arismari, both have great food and each has a unique location. More tavernas in Kalyves and Almaryda. Penny our very friendly and supportive host, though on site, gave us enough privacy and freedom to really enjoy the Villa, pool and gardens. She is a great source of information or advice and went out of her way to ensure that our stay was perfect. Great value for money, facilities top rate. A lovely location for families as well as a relaxing and refreshing haven for just two people. Thank you Penny for all your wonderful hosting. Ossie and Margaret"

"Excellent property with one bedroom and bathroom in an annexe. More than enough balcony and solarium areas. The pool was larger than expected. Overall a lovely property. The only improvements would be baking trays or ceramic dishes for cooking and the bathrooms need updating, especially the main bathroom as it’s door does not open/close properly and is a risk with children. Perfect position for us - in a tiny village out of the way from anything but with tavernas within 5 minutes drive and lovely towns such as Vamos, Georgiopolis, Plaka, Kalyves and Almyrida within 15 - 20 minutes drive "
