River Retreat l Kayaks, Vinyl, Pac Man and Peace

If you are looking for a quiet river retreat then Plover River Pines is the right place for you! Although it is located in a rural area, it is roughly 20 minutes to Stevens Point, Wausau, Weston, Mosinee, or Wittenberg, so you will not be short of things to do! We have spent our time in the river kayaking, fishing, tubing with a group of friends, swimming, and setting up chairs to just relax in the water. 2 kayaks are provided and ready to launch! You will end your day sitting by the firepit, grilling out, and may even get a chance to see the fireflies and hear the owls! Inside the house you will experience a clean, moody, cabin, equipped with all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. On a rainy day, you can play Pac-Man on the arcade machine, watch your favorite streaming service on the TV, or listen to the vinyl records we have there. Nearby activities include, Mission Lake beach and park, Wittenberg Casino, disc golfing, leather camps public land for hunting, biking, or walking the trails, memorial water park in Wausau, monk botanical gardens, children’s museums, escape rooms, and that is just to list a few! We hope you will enjoy your stay here as much as we will enjoy having you experience it!

Everything about our 5 night stay was excellent. Communication with the host was always prompt and easy. Property is very clean, and everything we needed was provided. Property is also very relaxing, peaceful, and quiet.

Very warm and comfortable!

The house has very warm and inviting vibes. The backyard set up is great, we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and listening to the sounds of nature and the river running. Suzannah is very quick to respond to any questions. If I am ever going to be out this way again, this is where I'm staying.

Weekend getaway

Beautiful property, clean and welcoming home. Close enough to Stevens Point and Wausau for dining, etc. Quiet road, perfect fall colors during our stay.

A great little cabin home

Our family truly enjoyed our stay here, and we didn't even use all of the amenities. The home felt spacious, but cozy. We appreciated two bathrooms, two living spaces, and two outdoor spots. The video arcade machine was a big hit. The setting is peaceful and private. Much to enjoy --wish it was closer to visit more often. Great communication with the owner. Highly recommend this location!

Quick summer break in central WI

Quick summer break to central WI. Property as advertised. Very nicely appointed house with beautiful access to the Plover River. Hiked the ice age trail, kayaked and fished on the river. River was running a bit fast with recent rains so only caught some small bluegills by shore. Last day went out to fish with Hooksetters on the WI river and half moon lake. Great short trip at a beautiful location!

Wonderful North Woods Getaway

We decided to bring the family together for a Northern Woods relaxing weekend and this property was perfect - wished we could have stayed longer. Very clean and functional home - plenty of space for 5 tall adults and 2 larger dogs. All beds were very comfortable at night with firm memory foam. Loved the decorations in the home and I'll never forget how fresh the home smelled when we came inside - not sure what wood it smelled like, but it was awesome! The video game machine was a huge hit, the river was perfect for kayaking, and loved our corn hole competition as the sun went down. This is within 30 minutes of all sections of the Ice Age Trail in Marathon county and the trail was beautiful at the beginning of October.

A Luxurious Retreat with Thoughtful Touches

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible property, and it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that no detail had been overlooked in the remodel. Every inch of the home was thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished, creating the perfect luxurious retreat.The layout was ideal for relaxation and privacy. The master suite felt like a romantic escape, while the other bedrooms provided plenty of space and seclusion. The separate game room area was a highlight of our stay, complete with a Pac-Man machine, cozy fireplace, TV, and games. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.The location is truly breathtaking—nestled in the woods and right next to the river, offering ultimate peace and serenity. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the beautiful views.The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. From providing all the essentials (even thoughtful touches for your dog!) to leaving a handwritten note, they made us feel incredibly welcomed and appreciated. Their responsiveness and attention to detail made all the difference.If you're looking for a serene, well-appointed getaway with exceptional hosts, look no further. This property is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to come back for another stay!

The stay was a wonderful place to be for a small family gathering with our dog. It’s a beautiful area right on the river. We saw many eagles, had fun around the fire pit and listening to the stereo inside.
