"Clean, decent coffee for breakfast. After we learned there's bagels and cream cheese we went to a local grocery to get smoked salmon, baby greens, tomato and our next breakfast was truly royal! We also grabbed a fresh lemon from a lemon tree that grows on front of our patio there."

"We booked the 2 kings beds suite with jacuzzi. The room was very big but there was no hot water, I have to take a cold shower and can’t use the jacuzzi ☹️. The microwave was kinda broken and the power cord was too short. Also the bathroom was so small."
"Big Sur has been a destination for most of my adult life. I’ve covered every type of overnight including camping all the way to Post Ranch. I’ve stayed at Big Sur Lodge numerous times but this will be my last time. I get the premium of location, however when a nightly charge approaches $400, I expect some level of accommodations and the room we got was horrible. As we arrived, (at 4:30 PM) a landscaper was in front of our room soaking the area, forcing us to drag our bags over a hose and through water just to get to the room. While he apologized, who thinks it is good to water in front of a room post check in time? Once we opened the door to the room it was boiling hot. We needed every door and window open to get it to cool off a bit. Sadly, only the tiny bathroom window had a screen and we spent the night battling flys that entered the room unobstructed. There was NO breeze and we were unable to stay in the room so we left for the beach hoping it might cool off while we were gone. We later found a fan but with only one power outlet, it just circulated hot air. Miserable night as we could not leave the back door open as instructed. NO SCREENS on the sliding door and window?!? I get it that the accommodations are basic, no Wi-Fi, TV, AC. But no screens on doors and windows? This is a nature experience destination but no screens let moths drawn to the porch light and any passing bug unobstructed access. I hope this helps some avoid this situation, soooo not worth the cost."
"I am disappointed with the service we received during our recent stay.
Housekeeping failed to service our room despite being requested twice. We were assured our room would be cleaned, but after a long day of activities we returned to find that nothing had been done. Having to make the same request multiple times without any follow-through was frustrating.
The check-in process was also disappointing. When I arrived, there were two clerks available. One directed me to another clerk, who then told me to wait. A third clerk eventually checked us in, while the other clerks assisted guests who had arrived after me. The experience felt disorganized and unfair.
We also had difficulty obtaining a luggage cart. Staff said security would be notified and that someone would help locate one, but no one followed up. As a result, my husband and I had to carry our luggage upstairs ourselves while managing two children and a small dog. To ensure we had a cart for checkout, we ended up keeping one in our room overnight.
Additionally, the lobby fountain was not operating, which detracted from the atmosphere we typically enjoy at Embassy Suites.
I have stayed at Embassy Suites approximately seven times and have generally had positive experiences. Unfortunately, this was by far the poorest customer service I have encountered with the brand. I hope management will address these concerns and improve communication, follow-through, and consistent treatment of guests."
"It’s rated as a 2 star hotel but I was surprised how great it actually was. It’s been remodeled and updated rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is perfect."
"We always love staying here with our dogs when we visit Carmel. It’s a great place to stay! We got a balcony this time and our dogs loved it! It’s super close to the beach and there are some dog friendly food places to eat at in walking distance. It’s always pretty clean and the staff is very friendly. We’d definitely come back"
