"We were only here for a night, but it was fantastic. When we checked in, after the front desk realized I was handicapped, immediately changed our room. I didn’t ask for an ADA room because I wasn’t showering but she said the original room was on a hill that was going to be hard to navigate. I didn’t even think about that. She not only put us in a better room, there was a ramp almost door to door from the car. I appreciated that more than she knows. We also had dinner at the lodge restaurant and not only was it the best roasted chicken I have ever had, my son exclaimed he had the best wings he’s ever had and my flourless chocolate torte was phenomenal. The view from our room was unmatched and my husband ended up hiking Stonyman almost by accident because the start of the trail was at the head of the road to our room. He went for a morning walk and bam! Next thing he knows he’s watching the sunrise at one of the most popular trails in the park ALONE. Pretty fantastic overnight if you ask me"

"The property is actually on TOP of a mountain looking over many many other mountains. So beautiful The house was nice and cozy. Had a fantastic kitchen. Very nice appliances. Had a nice Tv with lots of channels. Had two heating systems and a wood stove. Had a wonderful fire outside. Two decks. Sliding glass doors for the view. Two bathrooms. The view incredible"

"My review is based on my experience staying at similar properties. The location was great, and the view was beautiful. I gave the property 4 stars because there was no option to give 3.5 stars.Here are a couple of things I believe the host should work on to improve the guest experience:The HVAC system: The air vent in the bedroom was extremely noisy, making it difficult for me to sleep during both nights of my stay. The living room vent also blew air directly and forcefully onto the sofa, making it very uncomfortable to sit there for more than a minute.The hot tub: I would recommend replacing the hot tub with a newer, more modern model. The control panel did not work properly, and the filtration system did not appear to be functioning either. The jets were weak and worked in only two of the four seating areas. Overall, I would rate the hot tub 5 out of 10.There were also a few other things that could be improved, but the issues mentioned above had the biggest impact on my stay."

"The cabin overall is nice. It could use a little TLC, but it was a nice secluded place. Just as advertised. We had some issues with the upstairs toilet and the hot tub was dirty, but the owner were quick to take care of both issues. We had to shake off the mattress cover due to dirt being under the sheet, but it’s a cabin in the woods, so not a big deal. Not being able to use the hot tub was a disappointment, but it should be ready to go for the next guests. We did have deer in the yard one morning and the close proximity to the skyline drive and Luray Caverns was nice. Perfect weekend getaway for my wife and I."

"The house is so clean and has amazing views. The host and property manager responded so quickly to a minor issue related to one set of bedding. It is so peaceful here, so even though the weather did not cooperate with our plans to hike, we were content to hang out by the gas fire pit on the porch to listen to the rain. Would love to come back."
