Experience Groton and the New England coastal vibe in this centennial one of a kind shack. The Love Shack! is a 400sq. feet cottage with a big personality. We mindfully repurposed a clam shack into a cozy yet undisturbed studio that sleeps 4 with a spacious outdoor entertaining playground with multiple zones and a wrap-around deck that serves as extension of the indoors, complete with dining table and lounging furniture. Think of glamping with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Enjoy the magnificent views of Bushy Point and the Long Island Sound. Walk 5 steps to swimming, kayaking, mooring, fishing or just sitting on the beautiful boulders to allow the scenery to seduce you into a tranquil trance. You can also easily kayak to the breathtaking and secluded beach across the bay for clamming, swimming, bird watching or hiking the stretch of the beach that connects to the popular Bluff Point State Park or you may rather just sunbathe in one of the 2 secluded pristine islands in the Bushy Point peninsula. These two islands and the adjacent beach stretch maintain its very secluded and exclusive vibe to the fact that the most accessible way there is by kayaks and other watercraft, mostly from the properties that face the peninsula such as our property. Furthermore, to hike from mainland to this area is discouraging for most people due to the distance and the difficult terrain.
Want to enjoy fine dining after a long day of "beaching" and "clamming" ? Say no more...Just search: DOWNTOWN MYSTIC DINING. This iconic town is the quintessential New England maritime village and it is only about 7 miles away and a short 15 minutes drive. In Mystic you will find over 80 shops and restaurants and many cultural experiences such as museums, seaports, the very famous Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village. Do you enjoy the casino's scene ? We can offer that too! We are located approximately 15 miles from Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
Now, if you are thinking that all of this is great but all you want is beach; you are in the right place! Aside from our local community beach at the end of our street you have : Eastern Point beach, Esker Point Beach, Ocean Beach, Harness Memorial Beach, Waterford Beach just to name a few. Would you like to visit other beach towns when staying with us? Sure! you will be a short drive from: Misquamicut, R.I. Watch Hill, R.I , New Port R.I. just to mention a few.
What about a day trip to Block Island, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket? That is possible too! We are close to 2 ferry ports that will take you there; The New England Ferry ( 15 min) or the Point Judith Ferry ( 1 hour) All in all there is sooo much to do in this area during your stay OR you may decide to do NOTHING at all and just watch the sunrise from the community beach down the block or the sunset just from our comfortable loungers in front of The Love Shack with a cold drink in your hand while BBQing in the outdoor grill. You will be mesmerized with this beautiful scenery; cranes, ducks, seagulls and the occasional swan dance under the beautiful hues that color the sky and the ocean; a beautiful rainbow of soft pastel colors all while you are perched in your very own slice of paradise.

I know that choosing the right place for your vacation can be a daunting task and perhaps this is not the right place for you if you are looking for estate of the art, hotel like experience. This is more a raw, unspoiled, walk- barefoot- all -day and stargaze all night type of stay. I offer other properties that hotel experience type pf stay. 2 Full indoor houses are next to this property and another 3 are in the Ocean Beach - Harness Park beach area of New London CT. 3 of these properties are also beach and waterfronts, Furthermore, If you wish to rent The Love Shack and experience nature but want more space and comfort; we can offer a 4 bedroom house across the street.
