Quaint cabin that has the charm of something straight out of a children's fairy tale - upon initially entering I kept waiting on 7 dwarves to leap out of the walls. Appliances worked great and the washer/dryer was much appreciated. The neighborhood (trailer parkesque) is also quiet and "off the beaten path" and the cabin's charm makes it easy to feel "at home". The cabin has the potential to be great but there are some issues that detract from its charm. Cleanliness is the major problem with this cabin: House of Mouse - upon first glance the property was clean, however the first night we were there we left food on the counter in a Styrofoam container. The following morning, we found that the container had been chewed through by rodents. While there are various reviews of this being addressed, it clearly has not. One of the previous responses from management states mice can come through open windows and doors - we did not leave any doors or windows open - aka the mice were already there upon our arrival. We were more careful about leaving any food items out in packaging that could be chewed through; made sure the kitchen was spotless each night the rest of our stay, so as not to attract any more visits. The house had a lot of dust floating around, aggravating a member of our party's allergies (furnace filter might need changed?). The ceiling fan in the "master" bedroom (with attached laundry/bathroom) was in need of a major dusting/cleaning.The floors were swept and looked clean, but after walking around on them for a few minutes the bottoms of your feet quickly turned black. Windows were filthy, and something as simple as sweeping/leaf blowing the porches or removing fallen tree limbs from the roof would go a long way to making it look like someone cared about this property.Bring a flashlight if utilizing the loft - the lighting is decorative, but functionality is poor. The futon is the most comfortable mattress in the cabin. If you or someone in your party if over 6' I would look elsewhere. I can't tell you how many times I hit my head on the front door, back door, bathroom door, doorway between the kitchen and dining area, beams in the kitchen. Was hoping to leave feeling relaxed, instead I have some pretty nasty bangs and scrapes on the top of my head, and a crick in my neck from being hunched over the length of the stay. Nothing anyone can do about this, as I said this cabin is something out of a children's fairy tale - scale (size) and all.
