「A well located hotel for the moors, very comfortable accommodation, only downside is that you can hear the people in the next room when they use the bathroom, overall a nice place.」
「The staff were so friendly and keen to make everything perfect. The room was great. The food was excellent. I had really great dinners and breakfast was delicious start to day. The locals clearly loved the Royal Oak which was another good sign! Such a great stay and only good things to say about it!」
「I was traveling to the area alone and had chosen to stay here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who I later discovered was the owner. The room was very clean a pretty with everything you needed. That evening I had a drink in the bar and the owners were so friendly and welcoming offering any assistance I may need. The breakfast was delicious and while I didn’t eat a meal there the menu looked great and very varied. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area. 」
「We loved the ambience and the friendlyness of The Witching Post was understanding. Pete and his staff are kind, efficient and cannot do enough for you. we thoroughly enjoyed or time there and would love to go back some time.」
「Our stay was lovely: the manageress, bar staff and waitresses were all welcoming. They provided information about the local area and showed interest when we returned after our days out.
We stayed three nights in a very comfortable room, with a good selection at breakfast. We ate in one evening which very tasty.
We would definitely stay here again.」
「Had a brilliant stay at the Horseshoe Hotel, proper cosy place, staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay again」

「Tardis like quality of feeling a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Very clean and homely. Made to feel very welcome.
The animals in the nearby fields are great to watch. The village is tiny noticed two shops, the butchers and a general store but all this added to the feeling of calmness. The accommodation was just far enough away from Whitby but close enough to not be a burden. Unless you’re a serious walker you will need to use the car.
