The house is very quaint, easy to see that it was much cared for by its owners who appear to be nature-loving artists. The location was very convenient for our day trips into Yellowstone and we loved having a spacious kitchen to prepare our own meals and picnics as the town dining options are pretty sparse (recommend grocery shopping before you get to Gardiner). The property is for sale and it's clear that the owners are no longer there much. Sadly the picture of the garden in the listing is out of date as it has turned into a weed patch but despite that we enjoyed sitting out back for some decent bird watching in the two big trees. There is a brand new hotel just across the alley so once the leaves fall, the hotel would be your backyard view, but in the Summer that building is mostly obscured by the trees (people do walk by on the other side of the fence).Despite being right on the main drag in the center of town, the house is quiet inside (with the windows and doors shut) and peaceful. The beds are decent, the downstairs shower is very nice and while the upstairs bath is a bit funky it is perfectly usable. We were two adults each with our own room and bath, which provided plenty of room to spread out (though pricey for this configuration). It seems the house would be ideal for a couple with young adult children. And, if taxidermy isn't your thing, be prepared for a few heads in the main room.
