"Basic accommodation with some nice homely touches. Unfortunately, biggest issue for us were the external stairs up to the front door and also internal stairs to bedrooms. My 76yo mother uses a walking stick and I was temporarily on crutches too so we both struggled. Getting up the narrow outside steps in the dark with no lighting was quite precarious. "If you really wanna experience Edinburgh and not have to uber everywhere, this place is very centralized and probably within a mile of most of the stuff we did there. Convenient to the best pubs and restaurants, near the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. And the hotel and staff itself were very nice and was an overall great experience for our first 2 nights of our trip. Will definitely visit again."
