"We loved this campsite! Staff were welcoming and friendly, bungalow was clean and spacious with lovely views from the balcony. The site was lovely and peaceful in natural surroundings and beautiful scenery. River views from the pool area were just amazing. Pool area nice but we didnt get to use unfortunately. "Absolutely stunning location! We loved our peaceful 3 nights at this quaint and well run hotel. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and waking up to the view of the Douro River was fabulous. Even better than we expected, I would recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone!"

"A perfect stay from start to finish. The front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. There was plenty of room to relax. We had wine in the evening at the bar, which was lovely, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the morning. Everything was fresh and plenty. The service was so friendly it was a wonderful way to start the day. I truly hope to return again."

"We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e Memorias where husband and wife cook for you and welcome you in. The pool was not yet open unfortunately since it was March but would have been an incredible view. There’s also a kids playground set which helps for the little ones and a small little fish pond. The property has beautiful lemon and orange trees. A full and delicious warm breakfast was served directly to your door. A very peaceful stay! Highly recommend."
