Nice resort. Good breakfast and facilities. Check in takes unnecessary long time. Would have liked if staff spoke more english but everyone was very polite and helpful
The hotel is very pretty.
Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable.
Buffets (both breakfast and dinner) are exceptionally good.
Pools are also very nice and have lots of shaded and sunny areas and lots of lounge chairs.
Everything was excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for a week and the 2nd week at nearby Vivaz Cataratas Hotel & Resort. Same ownership. Carimã Resort has no airport shuttle from IGU. This hotel sits off of Avenida das Cataratas, a multi-lane divided highway, between the airport/tourist attractions on one side, and in the other direction the mall close by (a .75 km walk, without all sections having a sidewalk), continuing on to the center of Foz further away. Public bus 120 runs from the airport to downtown. We used it returning from downtown and the mall; however, going downtown the bus picks up on the other side, either you climb over 3 cement dividers or walk over the overpass. We had dinner (unlimited buffet) most nights at the hotel, as nothing really was walkable, with the mall being a possible exception. This is an expansive older hotel; few rooms have a balcony or large windows. The rooms and service excellent. The grounds are gorgeous, with hammocks and animals including beautiful peacocks roaming. You may hear them at night. There is a heated indoor pool and swim up bar. The bar is somewhat hidden, so difficult to hang out at the bar and talk to non-swimmers on the deck. The unheated outdoor pool was less used; however, we sat out there a lot, receiving great service from the bar. Lots of kids and organized activities for them throughout the property, the whole experience felt like being on a cruise ship. The included unlimited buffet breakfast was very complete. We would definitely stay here again.
Great staff, very helpful at all times, incredible breakfast and overall hotel was very clean and nice. We had a good time, good dinner as well.
we had a good time, definetly I would recommend.
This resort was amazing. It was a last minute booking and we did not know what to expect. We were very pleased that for such a great price we could get this amazing place. Perhaps the most amazing thing was the breakfast! We all agreed it was the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. We actually felt like we could just sit and stay at breakfast all day with the many choices! Wonderful place!
Overall was ok. Thermal indoor pool w/ bar was great, breakfast was good. I give them 3 stars because it smells towels and pillows.
Also at the check out double check the price. They wanted to double tax and over charge some staff it was around $30 dollars.
Here’s the deal: the room itself was spotless, and the hotel was definitely clean overall. Breakfast? Delicious. Plus, if you’re heading to the Iguaçu Falls, the location is on point. The standout moment was the first staff member who helped us—early check-in, no hassle. But after that? The rest of the staff dropped the ball. Wrong info more than once, promises to deliver things to the room that never showed up, and when we went in person, they were pretty unhelpful. So, yeah, that was a mess. In the end, though, outside of those staff blunders, it was a good stay.
My family stayed her for 2 nights and it was not good. The lobby looks nice but it stops there. The food was average food. The rooms were terrible. We had two rooms that were full of ants. We called but they only cleaned one room after I called twice. After I left I had ants in my clothes and bags and was picking them out all day. One of our rooms did not have hot water in the shower so my children had to take cold showers. The grout in the shower is covered in mold. This place is terrible and I am not sure how they have such good reviews. We told the front desk and all we got was a shrug and “ok we will write it down”. At the minimum they should have taken money off the room that did not have hot water. The beds are terrible and are just sheets on a bare mattress, no mattress cover. Yuck.
