"The house was delightful, and the couch bed was comfortable for my teen. It was also very well stocked - pots, pans, shampoos, big fridge etc. They also had a wonderful back patio. It was our favorite stay in Oregon so far.Mitchell's little grocery store was also surprisingly well stocked for its size. The gas was expensive but it's also the only one around for awhile.Highly recommend!"

"This was a great vacation getaway. The cabin has all the comforts of home in the middle of nowhere (or the middle of everywhere, depending on how you look at it). This is a great base for exploring the John Day country and is very close to the Sheep Rock unit of the Fossil Beds National Monument. "

"Mitchell is conveniently located to Painted Hills and the home decor reflected that connection. It was perfect for us: two humans and a small dog. Appreciated: ramp to front door; fenced yard, front and back; easy access to shower for those with mobility challenges (not in a wheelchair); overall cleanliness and essential kitchen supplies. Gracie, the dog, discovered the bean bag chair and made that “hers” during our stay! We look forward to trying the complementary honey! In general, Mitchell has experienced the ravages of time, but this home - and the Tiger Town Brewery - are exemplary exceptions. "
