you drive by the city waste water lagoons driving into the town. The smell continues with the cattle sale barn pens in the middle of the town.






My travel companion got sick so I brought a different person and were handicapped. They put us in a room farthest from the door and elevator (3rd floor all the way to the end). When I asked about a room change, I was told first floor was available but for $40 more a night. I couldn't do that based ...

Room was ok with the exception that the refrigerator was not check...milk left from previous guest. Bathroom counter not completely clean

You can find out about the history of Fort Pierre when you stop by Oahe Dam. Amble around the area's riverfront, or seek out its fishing spots.

An interesting sleepy little town. Likely pretty busy from time to time when there are rodeos and the likes. They had a great fair across the river when we stayed there.
Italian restaurant downtown in Pierre was outstanding- La Minestra.
Pierre SD - across the river has several very interesting tourist attractions. #1 South Dakota Cultural Heritage Center.

I had a very good impression of Fort Pierre from our stops at local restaurants and convenience stores - folks were nice everywhere we went!
