The 1915 River House is a delicate retreat designed for adult couples to relax, rejuvenate and become immersed in Lowcountry nature. What awaits is 18 acres of land on Charleston’s barrier island of Folly Beach across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. Included is a 400 SQ FT covered pierhead with 20’ dock AND 18’ boat lift float with power and water on the Folly River. Great fishing and crabbing right off the dock with easy boat access to inland waterways and the Atlantic Ocean. In its history, it housed the 1930’s Folly Boys Camp, has and continues to be a bird and wildlife sanctuary, and from the looks of the terrain, was a supply loading point for Union forces in preparation for the Battle of Charleston in the Civil War. Over the years the owners restored the 1,600 sf cottage, groomed the land, built a dock to deep water, and added fun stuff like a tree house, outdoor stone fireplace and dining table, swings and over a mile of walking/golf cart trails through moss laden oaks and along the riverfront and marsh. Inside, the all heart pine house has been restored with modern conveniences and decorated with funky antiques and artwork. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS. Business License 1-18-179900' Maximum Occupancy 6 people The River House is not kid friendly.
