"This place is very dated and absolutely awful. There was so much wrong with the room that I don't know where to begin. There were stains on the sofa and chairs in the living room/kitchenette area. Even the lamp shades in the bedroom had stains on them. Not sure how that could've happened but quite frankly I don't want to know. It was just gross! The rooms need to be updated starting with repairs to the walls, a fresh coat of paint, and furniture replacement. The carpet should also be replaced with LVP if they allow pets in the hotels. That's just common sense!! Sonesta needs to do better! I will not recommend the Sonesta hotels to anyone visiting the area for graduations on the Naval base. Definitely book your stay and better hotels for a bit more money per night or stay right on base at the Navy Lodge!"

"The room was not great. The bed lamp was unplugged and there was no socket close to plug it in. So I had to get out of bed to use the lamps in front of the room. The toilet after every use had to be flushed 2-3 times. Where the vents were for the ac had broken wood around it. It was not a great room. Definitely expected better."

"I booked my trip back in January. We planned to stay the weekend in Hoffman Estates because my daughter graduated the weekend of May 17. We were expected to check in May 16, and before we arrived for check in the hotel was already trying to process a payment. I’ve never booked anyplace and a payment was collected before I could even arrive. They made 3 attempts and they were all declined because I keep my card locked for obvious reasons. Someone from the hotel ended up calling and asking if I was still arriving and to secure my reservation the payment needed to be made because they were all booked up for the weekend. I assumed my reservation was secure when I booked through Expedia back in January. Nonetheless I let them process the payment before arriving and once I got to the hotel I was asked did need a King suite or Double bed. That made absolutely no sense to me because I booked for a Double bed suite and they sweated me all morning for the payment. This hotel was so out dated. No microwave in the rooms. The pool area needs to be updated."
