We used this cabin while spending a weekend in Ellijay to float the Cartecay. Everyone had plenty of space and the WiFi was great! It was nice to be away from town to experience a serene environment.

Ellijay cabin
We had a good weekend - the cabin was clean and we stayed in and relaxed. We were a little disappointed about the house next to us was under construction and also the close proximity to all the cabins- we were under the impression it was secluded- our fault for not asking. WiFi is great and was comfortable- thank you for allowing us time in your cabin-
Cabin is amazing! Serenity Place lived up to it’s name. Peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Pool table, tennis/basketball court for your enjoyment. Cleanliness was beyond measure. I would advise arriving during daylight hours. We had a problem finding the entrance to the front of the cabin in the dark.
We enjoyed our stay so much we didn’t want to leave. The house and property were exactly like the photos. We spent most of our time on the back porch with ample seating and a great fireplace. The fire pit was conveniently located. The hot tub was set at the right temperature. The master bathroom was awesome with a great shower and a spa tub. I have nothing negative to say as our vacation was near perfect, just not long enough.
Away from the bustle of town, SOOO close to the mountain bike trails.
This was the perfect spot for our family. My husband got up and rode from our driveway to the trails that are literally right at the driveway edge and along the entry road (Gates Chapel Road). He rode for HOURS every day while we went into Ellijay and visited our favorite places. If you are wanting to be right near downtown Ellijay, this may be too far out for you but if you have a mountain bike lover, this is perfection. WE loved to slow down and see the two white guardian dogs greet us on Gates Chapel Rd, see the shaggy horses at the farm along the way, see the empty wasp nest hanging high in a tree along the road, wonder about the farm with the fake deer and what they do there hahaa, and the next door neighbors are setting up a farmstead and are DELIGHTFUL. We asked permission and they allowed us to greet and pet their two gorgeous dogs. We fished in the little pond on site (caught some little bitty fish but it was fun), sat in the swing by the pond, spent hours hitting balls on the on site tennis court, and relaxed in the jacuzzi which is VERY clean b/c the owner has it drained between EVERY renter (THANK YOU!). We love relaxing by a fireplace. The one here does it's job of warming the place up but it is in an awkward spot. I'd have loved to turn the furniture to face the fireplace b/c being from Florida, we don't get to experience fireside coziness very often. But, I understand the positioning of the furniture b/c the TV is on the opposite side of the room.

Could Use Updates
Starting with the good points: the seating outside by the fireplace was wonderful; really enjoyed that. The outside decking was nice for keeping the dog on, which was a nice perk. The woodwork inside the home was beautiful, & the upstairs loft with pool table a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked, & there were plenty of towels & blankets for everyone.Even though it was Christmastime, the property was decorated only with a "Tree" that looked like it had been sitting untouched in the same corner for a decade, along with a similar-looking wreath on the wall outside. The cabin didn't appear to have had any renters for awhile because it was dusty, there were dead bugs in the corners of most rooms, & the deck was very slippery from mold; 3 of us slipped more than once. We found dishes that had not been cleaned, a shower curtain that was old and disgusting, dirty walls, & a puff of a weird smell every time we sat on the living room furniture (which was also dirty). The kitchen countertops were dusty, a few outlets that did not work, and more. Many of these issues were brought to the attention of the management company, who apologized. However, the biggest disappointment came from the response of that company when we called about the pilot light in the gas fireplace that went out in the middle of the night & couldn't be turned back on. If I had more room, I'd elaborate about how that problem was addressed, but instead I'll end this review by saying we won't be back.
The cabin was wonderful, loved the decorations. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. We loved the outside living area. It was a very relaxing time for us as a family.
I rent cabins all the time and I'll remember this one for the private lot, tennis court, and the outdoor covered deck was awesome! We really enjoyed our stay!
This rental was aged but still very nice and clean. The property mgmt group was excellent with communication and a speedy resolution in solving maintenance issues. The surrounding houses and road to the property were unappealing and at times the road was treacherous with potholes.
My family enjoyed our stay at this home. It was my husband and I, our 9 year old, our two 17 year olds, and our 20 year old. Our nine year old loved being able to go out in the morning to fish on the little pond while the big kids were still sleeping. We spent our days hiking and out on Lake Hiawassee. When we got home in the evenings we enjoyed the court- playing basketball and volleyball/tennis as a family. Once it got dark we loved having the hot tub and pool table. We would definitely revisit and stay at this house - it had everything we needed.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at yogis hideaway! The cabin was beautiful and clean, and met all of our needs. Beyond the cabin itself, the tennis courts brought us a lot of fun and laughter. And the beautiful pond just beyond the tennis courts provided hours of activity. The first day, my children (15, 9, 6) caught 16 fish between them. They were so happy and excited. Definitely a highlight for all of us. We brought our own fishing poles and worms, which is a good idea if anybody plans to fish. We also brought our own tennis rackets and tennis balls, though there were plenty of rackets and balls provided. Also, our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful land to run and play. Our stay gave us an opportunity for wonderful memories and family bonding.
Advertised as Private with tennis court Only to find 10 other people with a dog that we’re renting the house behind us using the court and being very loud. Owner misrepresented. He owns both properties and probably promised both listings access to the tennis court without the individual renters knowing. Scam Alert ! Dirty and mice droppings in the pans we were to cook with.
I was ok with the property until they had a power outage a day before our scheduled check-out. We were unsure when power would get restored and needed energy for a breathing machine, so we cut the visit short and left by 9 am. I called and explained this to the property and asked if I could get a day refund or credit for a day for the next visit. The property never responded or accommodated us for the inconvenience.

Entering the home at dusk, there are NO outside lights at back of home. Multiple flood lights that were set up weren’t even working. Inside, bugs galore! Lady bugs, spiders etc. it’s understandable that it’s a cabin in the woods but when someone has formed out 1200 for a weekend stay, it would have been nice to not have any bugs. The hot tub reeked of algae water and had a thick layer of scum on the side walls. The cookware, had to be hand washed prior to use because of the layer of filth. The fireplace outside had no way of opening a vent, so smoke would roll out into the porch area. The tennis court was filthy, brown/black, covered in leaves. Broken rackets and half deflated basketballs. The pool table inside needs trashed! It wobbles, the felt material is on its last leg! The pictures are deceiving. It shows this location being secluded, there is literally a red barn in the back driveway, that doesn’t even belong to it. There are goats and dogs on the same property, so if you aren’t for hearing it, sure wouldn’t consider this it. In the event of a fire or any other disaster, there is no main disconnection available in the breaker box, at-least not on the first level. If it’s in the garage, it’s locked up tight. I will not suggest this location, nor will I ever invest my money here again. If you knew you had guest coming to stay a weekend, the least that could have been done was a pre-clean or touch up, or even a snack basket.
My family really enjoyed this property, particularly the outdoor porch, hot tub, tennis court, and fish pond. Our first three days were perfect. Unfortunately, a storm knocked out all power for our last two days. Cell reception is nonexistent, so without wifi we weren't able to call for help. Because the house is on a well, no power means no water, and trees in the road blocked us from even being able to leave. We would have been in a rough spot if neighbors hadn't donated some drinking water for us and our young children. Having gas at the cabin did mean we were still able to cook food on the stove and grill. Power and water were still not on when we checked out, so we weren't able to clean dishes as requested.
I can tell that the owners have really been listening to suggestions, as they had plenty of TP and a nice lantern that was really useful for us. I'd also suggest some emergency gallons of water, just in case, as well as some more emergency candles. They also need to update instructions for the gas fireplace. The on switch is on the small black box inside the fireplace, on the right.
Pros:
- Great location (on the road to Lake Conasauga and beautiful off roading trails, hiking, etc, 25 mins to Dowtown Ellijay)
- Cabin fit needs: clean, cozy, spacious, everything worked.
- Private, rural forested surroundings (and tennis courts)
Cons:
- Outside patio is not as nice, clean, or updated as the photos listed. Some of the lights are out.
- Hot tub has some minor issues (light doesn’t work, jets are low powered)
- Not treated for insects, and especially carpenter bees. There were 20-30 flying around the roof constantly above the patio. Made an unpleasant outdoor experience.

Good .. but ..
This cost was around $500 a night for us .. .. too much $$$$ for what we got… there is no “ view” per se like a mountain top view , hot tub needed to be drained ( extremely hazy looking water )
The location is everything! We are avid mountain bikers and hikers. Being right off a forest service road and biking distance to trails was so great! Nothing can beat the convenience of this location. Coming back to the house from a long day of biking or hiking to a hot tub wasn’t bad either! We plan on being repeat vacationers to Yogi.
My family spent the weekend at Yogi getaway for fall break. We had a great time playing tennis and basketball. Enjoyed going to the apple festival too! Cabin was cozy.
Very enjoyable 4 day weekend with the family. The cabin was super clean and offered up plenty of entertainment for everyone. This was our 3rd trip to Georgia and by far my most favorite place to stay yet.
