"Property is a little tired I would describe it more as a licensed B @B than a hotel but for what I paid it was ok."

"Facilities are absolutely amazing… great gym, sauna steam room and pool. Room was a bit tired. Food really let it down. Evening meal food wasn’t even Wetherspoons quality, but was expensive and the service was absolutely terrible. Breakfast however was great, and only waited 20 mins for poached eggs which was a bonus. Ate in the Golf Club cafe at lunchtime which was a complete disaster… not really helped by the rude food manager… DO NOT go over to eat there, unless you have 2 hours to spare and actually don’t want to eat what you ordered. We will not be back"

"Our family have had the most amazing break at Poplar cottage. We would probably rank this as the best UK cottage we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The cottage is truly exceptional and its heritage is fascinating. The furnishings are in abundance with such tasteful decor throughout. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered from the luxury bedding, towels, plentiful seating including a cosy snug area and ample kitchen utensils. The sea provides a beautiful landscape and Budleigh is oozing with charm. Despite the mixed weather, this did not dampen our spirits with long nature walks along the Otter enjoying the beautiful birds and the breathtaking coastal views. We will definitely be back."
