"We were delighted with our stay at Shady Grove. The cabin is extremely well laid out, clean with quality throughout. My wife and I enjoyed hiking on the private 3 mile trail, seeing the grapes up close and from the cabin. The area is completely secluded and private with the exception of deer, fireflies, bluebirds and rabbits. The outdoor amenities were great and we used the grill for dinners we enjoyed on the patio. We will definitely plan to return."

"This is an older cabin so do not expect luxury. The spot is all about the privacy, view, outdoor space and access to a a lovely creek with easy launch of your own or provided kayaks. Lots of smaller red eye bass to catch The stream water is crystal clear and great for the dogs. Shade in the evening for the enclosed porch. Great internet signal if you can’t leave work behind. The nearby Roaring Run hike is spectacular when open. Nearest real grocery is 30 minutes away so pack well."

"Very nice cozy cabin, close to AT and trails, 30 minutes to Roanoke. Nicely appointed with kitchen items, seating etc. Driveway is steep and gravel with some concrete for traction at sharp turn and ok after a trip up and down but more of a challenge in the dark. Secluded and quiet and a great place to relax. Bring binoculars if you’re into birds, saw scarlet tanagers, ovenbirds, pileated woodpeckers +"

"Absolutely perfect stay. Everything is exactly as pictured. The bed is so comfortable, the shower and tub are divine. The creek is cool and refreshing. Bring firewood and charcoal, paper plates if you don't want a lot of dishes. Bring a good book and enjoy the view from the front porch. Lay under the stars. Relax. You are completely disconnected no service at all."

"We were there for a wedding in Lexington. My extended family stayed here and we had a great time. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the land and river. The older cousins enjoyed the firepit at night making smores. The bathrooms were are great surprise in that the shower head were nice and high. "Squirrel's Nest is an absolutely charming cottage in a quaint town. Great location & perfect for our needs. We only stayed a weekend, to attend the Sounds of the Mountains storytelling festival at nearby Camp Bethel. We hope to go back when we can stay longer, to see more of the town & surrounding area."

"As soon as we pulled up to the property, we were taken aback by how beautiful and peaceful it was! The cabin was super clean and cozy, perfect for a getaway. We enjoyed waking up at sunrise and drinking our coffee on the front porch swing and watching the deer and wild turkeys. The property is super close to Moncove Lake so we spent some time kayaking and enjoying the park. We loved the touch of the automatic twinkle lights at dark and had the most relaxing stay!! Would definitely stay again!...

"We had a lovely stay at the “Writer’s Cabin!” It is small but so cozy and perfect for two. We had rain at first but when the skies cleared we went for a walk and explored the Chessie Trail. A lovely walk along the river. Hosts are very gracious. Easy check in and check out."

"Loved the location, privacy, and quiet surroundings. Everything was great, and the water was just like any other Sulphur water. It has a smell, but it works! Plus, there was a full bottle of water in the water cooler when we arrived. We enjoyed sitting down by the water and watching the ducks float by. We communicated both with Evolve, and with the local contact, and everyone was helpful and quick to reply. Would not hesitate to stay again!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in the woods! Plenty close to all Natural Bridge attractions and not far from Lexington either! My husband and I and two kids (6 and 3) loved this area and the scenery and fresh air I it here. Sun room and sound of the brook was very peaceful. Beds were very comfortable and black out shades were on every window in master bedroom, including the upper windows, making a very comfortable night’s sleep. Spacious bedrooms too.
