This cabin is located on a "still" portion of the New River well above Claytor Lake in Virginia. The property had kayaks, outdoor charcoal grilling and is just across the river from miles of the New River biking trail. The cabin is well maintained, built with quality and full of amenities. During our short stay we saw deer grazing, eagles soaring over the river hoping for a catch and a muskie working the river's edge feeding on small fish in the early morning. Much of "the New" was hard hit with Helena in 2024 but this property shows no impact one year later.

River Hiatus

Awesome place to just get away to . . . only negative is the steep hill to climb and that the dock didn't have a ladder. Other than that nothing but praise for cleanliness and location. Owners were super . . . would recommend to my family and friends.

Little piece of heaven

Beautiful property, comfortable and well appointed cabin right on the New river. Fishing, kayaks, wonderful porches for sipping coffee while the birds serenade you. Wonderful jetted tub, fire pit, and grill make it easy to relax at this fabulous cabin. Very responsive hosts make sure you have everything you need for a special getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary here, and will certainly be back

Just a really great property!

I had a 2 night stay with my dog at this property. I needed an opportunity to kind of disconnect and recharge. The property is so well maintained. I had a special request that the owners were happy to accommodate. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great place to run

My wife and I were celebrating 31 years of marriage. The cabin was very nice and very thoughtfully stocked with all the amenities you might need. We brought our Labrador with us. There was lots of space for him to run. The view was outstanding. It was very private and relaxing. We had a great time and we would definitely recommend the cabin to friends Joe & Laure

The online pictures were great but the actual views even better! The cabin was cozy and relaxing which was perfect for our rainy weekend. We are looking forward to booking again in warmer weather so we can take advantage of the beautiful property and river.

Couple Getaway

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely time in the secluded cabin with our little English bulldog, Goose. We spent the nights by the fire, enjoyed the local wineries, and got a chance to go up the river on the kayaks for a relaxing day on the water. Would 100% come back to this property.

Great for a quiet Thanksgiving

I have nothing but good things to say! The owners were extremely hospitable and gracious. They have thought about everything that a guest may need and keep the property well stocked…the setup is very thoughtful.
