「Lovely cottage which is situated close to Durham City centre.Helpful, friendly host, who was on hand when we had any problems. Also, a very good Italian restaurant next door.」

「Staff were great, the hotel looked stunning and the grounds were amazing. The breakfast was delicious too. The room we had was in the attic so I kept hitting my head, the main light in the room was above the doorway which was around a corner so didn’t really help at all. There was water and hair in the bottom of the shower when we arrived as if someone had only just had a shower. There were patches of damp in the room around the window and on the ceiling.」

「The house was new and spacious. We had five of us staying there, and we had plenty of room and privacy. It was also a quiet location, so we got a good night’s sleep. And it was close to the bus lines so transportation in and out of Durham was easy.」

「There was no breakfast available despite the description stating there was. The bath had no plug & the electric shower was very temperamental (from cold to scalding). The decor left a lot to be desired with nails/screws sticking out of the walls. There wasn’t a TV in each room & bedroom furniture was unstable.」

Dated in appearance across lots of areas and small details in the room let it down - poor quality hairdryer, pillows were clearly old and misshapen, having to pay for the crisps left out etc. Our main issue was room was unbearably hot, given the recent weather, with no air conditioning so we both had a really uncomfortable night (not) sleeping there.
