「Beautiful and peaceful place to rest. This place was so fun to visit with great walking paths with pooch Magnolia escorting us along the way and meeting the cows were a special treat. We even saw the Howler Monkeys in the trees by the river. Host Dominic was interesting to talk with especially telling us the history of the family farm.」

「I adore Edwin and his family. They took very good care of this solo woman traveler. He feed me very well!! The atmosphere was very authentic to how the locals live in the jungle. It is rustic. Shower did not have hot water.. I did have the room with a.c. Very nice. I will for sure go here again.」

「The hotel was pretty modern and new. The double suite was very large and beautiful. It was a pretty quiet, family business and the staff was so nice and accommodating. It felt like staying with family. The food was delicious as well. The area is pretty isolated, but a short cab ride can take you to town for groceries and restaurants. Super refreshing and pretty pool, and the beds were SO comfortable. 」

「A bit far walking from the shopping area. But there’s a restaurant and a convenience store about 5 mins walking. Also really quiet and safe neighborhood. Hot water works well. A/c was okay. 」

「Calico Jacks is a bit outside San Ignacio so you definitely need a vehicle but the room was really cleaned and comfortable. I stayed for only one night so I haven’t used the pool or tried the zipline but the food at the restaurant onsite and the staff were amazing. Julio was my server and my guide the morning after to visit Barton Creek’s caves and he made sure I had a wonderful time.」

「When I made the reservation I thought we were at the main lodge and not at the camp. Of course the property is beautiful Accommodations were nice beds very comfortable , staff and was great but having to get up to walk to the bathroom was not fun for me so in the future when I book I will be making sure I’m at the main lodge. I think the camp is great for backpackers and those on a budget. 」

「Cahel Pech is a great affordable option in San Ignacio. The pool setup is a fun amenity and meals were delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel was happy to set us up with tours and local drivers too. On a Saturday night, the local town partied loudly until 3am but I can't really fault the hotel for that. The room could be improved with a new mattress and pillows. The view of the town is super nice and there's even a local bunny that is super friendly! Staff is top notch.」
