Croke Park in Dublin is so much more than an impressive sports stadium. “Croker”, as it is locally known, is in many ways is a bastion of Irish identity that protects the spirit of Gaelic games from forces seeking to dislodge it. If this all sounds a bit dramatic you should take the fantastic Croke Park Experience tour to get a very real sense of just how important and deeply ingrained the GAA and Gaelic games are to Ireland’s sense of itself.
Located a little south of the town of Malahide in County Fingal, the medieval Malahide Castle is an impressive and imposing structure, blending centuries of history in a single setting. While parts of the castle date back to the 1100s, its grounds offer some of Ireland’s best 18th century garden landscaping, making a trip to Malahide Castle a must for both history and nature enthusiasts.
Dublin Zoo is not the only place in the city that you can take a walk on the wild side but it is probably the most popular. A firm favourite with families, the zoo attracts more than a million visitors every year, and they just keep coming.
Phoenix Park is so important to Dublin that it has its own law on the statute books and visitors should be aware that one provision of this is that “no person shall act contrary to public morality in the Park”. So watch your Ps and Qs!
"We stayed here the night before our flight back to the US. It was perfect place to return our rental car the night before, take the shuttle to the hotel from the airport, and then take the shuttle back to the airport the next day. Our flight was delayed, but the lobby was spacious and comfortable for us to order food and relax until it was time to go to the airport."
"Staff at the property made our stay, all super friendly and helpful. We got drinks vouchers during our check in. Would definitely stay again. Room was clean and bright "
"The Samuel staff is excellent; they are very welcoming and helpful. We had no troubling dropping off bags and then getting into our room when it was check-in time. The beds are very comfortable, & the rooms are clean and modern. The location is about half a block to the tram to go to the city center, which is convenient (about 15-20 minutes to Christ Church with walking and the tram). The hotel has both a restaurant and a coffee shop, both of which are good, and more restaurants are available at the next stop from the tram station and the Abbey stop (about 10 minutes) is in the restaurant district. The Samuel is a great choice."
"Perfect location for any events at the 3arena. Easy to reach by tram. Very friendly staff and lovely hotel. Room was great with loads of amenities. Only stayed 1 night but could stay for a lot longer easily. "
