"Pros: property was clean, attractive, comfortable and tons of space. Reasonable price, close to lots of fun places to explore. Hot tub and pool were enjoyable and the kitchen was fully functioning and a huge help to a large family. We would definitely stay there again.That said, there was room for improvement.Cons: It was definitely in the process of renovation, as one of the 7 bedrooms was closed off for repair, which we did not know about in advance. The pond had too much algae or something, so we didn't go fishing. There were some dead fish floating in the water. The bedroom that looks like it was converted from a sunroom was cold at night and a few bugs got in. None of these problems was a huge deal, but good to be prepared."

"I booked this in a spur of the moment decision knowing I needed a week away from work, the city life ( I was born a country gal) and some "me" time... it was more than I expected. I'm glad I picked it! The description was very honest, it is not a Ritz-Carlton by any means, which they do state that, (So I packed according to their description) but can (and probably has) accommodate quite a large group! The pool was huge, I spent most of my week in it, and on the deck reading, in privacy & the quietness of nature. I couldn't have asked for a better remote place in the country, but yet minutes away from Lansing if I needed anything. (I went there once) I felt a little guilty for staying in the 6 bedroom home by myself, so I ended up having my daughter from WI. Come down a couple nights, and ended up going back to Decorah and getting my brother to stay a couple nights. (He'd only planned on staying one, until he saw it) They all loved it. I will definitely recommend it, and hope to return... I bet it's even more beautiful in the fall surrounded by color "

"We were very happy with our accomodations at Lansing. There were 2 problems we had. The "centipedes" in the house but only on ground floor. And the TV's in both bedrooms on ground floor were not operable. We never did figure out how to get them to work. The grandkids all LOVED the pool & especially LOVED the hot tub."
