"The hotel is great, room is big for Japanese standards and the bathroom is the best feature. Staff is very helpful, they all speak English so it is easy to communicate. The amenities, breakfast, etc., are simply great. Yes, it’s a great modern hotel right by the beach in a wonderful town. "This was an extremely affordable place to suit our last-minute decision to stay in Koshigoe. The room was great, everything was pretty basic but for the price we paid it was more than enough. The owners were wonderful despite our very limited Japanese and even gifted us some postcards on departure! "The property was considerably better than I expected! It was a last minute booking on Expedia and I got a fantastic rate for a weekend stay. While I noted the excellent reviews, the property was visually impressive upon arrival. The check in line appeared to be long, more than 30 people ahead of us, but moved extremely quickly. We were checked in within 15 minutes of arrival. The property offered numerous options for restaurants and had 2 Family Marts. The public bath was fantastic. It was very clean and there was a variety of amenities in our room that was refreshed on the second night. Really couldn’t find anything to complain about. The staff were quick and responsive. The surrounding neighborhood was cool to explore. Highly recommend and would definitely return."

"We booked the ryokan with private onsen. It was worth every penny. We got the dinner and Japanese breakfast and was an amazing experience. The give you a yukata slippers and even socks to use. In from of the beautiful building is a garden. Also behind the museum in the corner a beautiful Japanese authentic restaurant, it was just beautiful. It was easy to catch the buses once we figured out which one to take. The outdoor private onsen has the shower next to it and it is also outdoors. The bathroom, toilet is inside. We just loved our stay there. For our second night we opted for the buffet in a sister hotel nearby but we should have stayed for the authentic Japanese dinner for the second time even though it is the same as the previous night. The room was quiet and peaceful. The staff very attentive."

YuYu Hakone - Private Open Air Onsen Usage Guaranteed

"We stayed 1 night and throughly enjoyed our time. We wish we had stayed longer. We arrived at the property after spending the day exploring Hakone. We had taken the pirate ship across Lake Ashi and then took a bus to the stop right outside the ryokan. We were instructed to remove our shoes and don the provided slippers. The staff warmly greeted us and confirmed our onsen time which we had scheduled the day before. We booked ours for after dinner. We were led to our room which was a very clean traditional Japanese room with tatami. There was also a tv and a patio which was nice! Dinner was not included but it wasn’t too expensive, and it was delicious! I know some ryokan you eat in your room, but I liked that they had a separate dining room. The view outside was all forested so it made for a nice backdrop for our meals. The open air onsen was wonderful and was nice and hot. There are also showers for washing before you enter the onsen. There are no showers in the rooms so we just used the onsen shower during our time slot. The futons in the room were very comfortable and it was the best night of sleep I had on our entire trip. We woke to our amazing kaiseki breakfast ready in the dining room, which was very nutritious and gave us the energy to hike all day. In all we would 100% stay here again. We loved the whole experience and it felt like a true traveler’s inn. Bonus points for Ice, the adorable kitty manager!"

"This is a beautiful hotel with good rooms and a communal Onsen with good views of Atami’s beach and the bay or ocean. Their policies are rigid! They will let no one. check in before 3 pm. That policy is extremely frustrating for guests who arrive before 3. No flexibility. The nightly rates are way too high. Still, a good hotel with eager staff to assist you. ."
