"I recently stayed at the Royal Kona Resort in Kona, Hawaii. The location and amenities definitely deserve a 5-star rating. The oceanfront views are absolutely beautiful, the saltwater lagoon and pool area are great, and the property has that classic Hawaiian resort feel. Being able to walk right into town for restaurants and shops is also a huge plus. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and service did not match the amazing setting. Our room and some of the common areas didn’t seem as clean or well maintained as expected, which took away from the experience. In addition, several interactions with staff felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. Overall, the Royal Kona has incredible potential because of its location and amenities, but improvements in housekeeping and customer service would make a big difference in the overall guest experience."

"Beautiful place making our first visit to the island such a peaceful, relaxing stay! I enjoyed the open windows in our room. There was no air conditioning, but fans were provided. We visited during February and the temperatures would get down in the 60s at night. The only time we saw other guests was during breakfast or at night during our return. My favorite memory was the coqui frogs you can hear at night and the fresh baked goods put out every morning. "

Everything about the house and property was exactly as described although we didn’t believe it until we actually saw for our own eyes. "The house is beautiful! The view is spectacular. The locks and code worked beautifully. The garage door opener was really nice to have when coming home from our day excursions and were able to leave the rental car in the garage. We left our drinks in the garage frig and easily loaded them into a cooler each morning for our adventures."

"When you stay at Ho’o Maluhia you know you’re in paradise! The sweeping views of the Kona coast immediately sets the tone for the day. The house is beautiful and the layout is perfect for multi- generation families, friends or a couple for a romantic get away. The 2 stories with the 3 bedrooms (each having their own bathroom) is a luxury and the 2 ground floor bedrooms with patios is a bonus. The master bedroom & bathroom is amazing, large layout with many designer features and well thought out, located on the main floor. Shared living area is spacious with quality and comfortable furniture. Kitchen is open design and well stocked with a laundry room with a commercial grade washer & dryer. Honestly, we spent most of our time on the large balcony over looking the Kona coast, enjoying meals together or outside in the beautifully landscaped backyard catching some Kona sunshine or in the pool. Location is ideal. Close to downtown and easy access to main highways to explore the island. We were a multi-generation family of 6 with 2 elementary age grandsons and stayed a week. My 8 year old grandson sums up our stay…Nana you know what my favorite thing is…..the pool! Ours was the beauty of Kona right from our balcony! The booking was easy, great communication and responsive management staff. We will definitely be back!"

The location was perfect: central location for Kailua-Kona coastline, as well as for going North & South for site seeing. Love love loved this place. If we’d never left the house, we were in paradise. Beds were comfortable & pool and deck were fabulous. "
