"Friendly and helpful staff. Good food in the pub/restaurant on site. The breakfast area is separate from the pub area, which we thought was a nice touch. Room was a good size (it was the Stratton Suite). Water was great pressure in the shower. Just one small thing. The door at the top of the stairs needs some WD40!"

"It is a nice hotel with character. The staff are very welcoming, especially the gentleman on reception who was extremely helpful and very engaging. The room was comfortable with a good bathroom and bed - perfect hardness of mattress - and very quiet. Dinner was good - a perfectly cooked piece of cod in an interesting sauce and good ice-cream. The wine selection lacks French wine by the glass completely and in general there are far too many New World wines - why this common obsession? European...

"Very quaint, great atmosphere being a pub downstairs with rooms above. It wasn’t noisy even on the weekend. We had a large room for 3. Breakfast choices were fabulous. The staff in the dining room were extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely return to the Blue Boar. "
