"The Opera House is not where you go if youre looking for in room massages. Its a historical building made of adobe with a unique back story that excuses its sometimes flaky exterior. You stay here for history. You stay here for the unique experience. The entrance to Death Valley is literally a block away, making this a hikers dream. The wild donkeys come to drink next to the back of the property in the morning. The staff are some of the friendliest around. The rooms have a bed and a hot shower, theres a microwave and a plethera of games, as well as a book nook. And an experience you cannot get at the soulless modern hotel. Make sure you take the tour if youve never heard of Miss Marta. "

"Staff at Ice cream parlor were excellent. Front desk not so much. Property is dated but has good amenities. Should have more food options. But we enjoyed our stay"

"Stovepipe Wells is a clean, well-appointed motel in convenient park location near the Mesquite Sand Dunes. We were happy with our stay, The only odd thing is the free coffee service is 9pm-7am, and for the money spent, it would be great if breakfast and coffee were included. "

"A towel from the previous guest had been left behind the bathroom door. The sink wouldn’t turn off all the way so water was constantly running. The toilet was weak to flush and clogged after each use so we had to go to the front desk for a plunger and plunge it each time. The shower water pressure was amazing though and the bedding was comfy. Having a restaurant on site was nice after a long day. "

"We were able to reach the park very easily and the location is close. Once we stepped into the room, there was a used soap bar left in the bathroom from previous guests. They also put their towels in the shelf above the toilet, but the shelf itself is not that clean."
