"11/10 experience! My wife and I stayed here two nights while celebrating our honeymoon and we were blown away by how well we were treated. When we arrived we were told check in would take a few extra minutes as they were working on something special for us. Boy was it worth the wait! We arrived at our room and realized we were upgraded to the Prince of Whales suite! We then noticed a beautiful note congratulating us on our wedding along with wine and desserts. I can’t thank the staff enough for how special the staff made our stay and we will be recommending the Barrington to everyone we know heading the Halifax. THANK YOU!"

"We all know the saying "Never judge a book by its cover". That applies to this hotel. From the outside you may be a little wary but keep an open mind. The rooms and hallways have been renovated and our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. You will want a car to get around, but it is about a 20 minute drive to the bridge to Halifax and is close to the highways. "

"The good:- The unit is clean, comfortable, and in a great location.- I didn’t use the full kitchen but would be good you need a place where you can cook it would.- It’s a unique and funky place, refreshing compared to the usual grey you find in other rentals.- Great location in downtown Dartmouth. There’s some great food nearby and it’s very close to the waterfront. - Very affordable relative to other rentals nearbyThe ok:- The sheets and towels were washed with a detergent that gives them a strong and long-lasting smell. Not great if you’re allergic to or sensitive to fragrances.- Windows are blocked from opening all the way.The bad:- The living room has a bright emergency exit light that can’t be turned off. I stayed in the main bedroom and could close the door to block out the light. But the second bed is behind a partial wall in the living room divided from the rest of the area with translucent curtains. There’s no way you could get this area fully dark. TLDR: I enjoyed my stay and the location, especially for the price, but bright light and strong fragrances are definitely holding the place back from a full 5 stars."
