Camilla's place in Cortina was EPIC. We had the good fortune to be in the OFF-season (late November!) - which meant that the massive and summer and winter crowds were gone.
Camilla's place is exactly as it seems. First, it's gorgeous. Most of the world would say it's weird to have an apartment building WAY up a hill above a small town. But in Cortina it just makes sense.
We arrived in the middle of the night, as planned, and used Camilla's incredible documentation (video! pictures!) as our guide to get in. HUGE indoor parking garage. Glorious elevator that goes right to the cutest little Tyrollean flat you've ever seen,
It frames the mountains in front of you gorgeously. The place itself is small but very comfortable for a family of four (two parents, two kids in their early 20's).
But the LOCATION is the whole thing. You can hike out your back door, and get WAY up into the Dolomites. The tram goes by your flat, but not so close that people will be peering in.,
And the mountains. They are simply stunning. We stayed two nights, and wish we'd had two more. Truly, a great place.
Thank you, Camilla, for everything. We had an amazing time.
