"It is overall a decent Hotel. But, it needs a few upgrades to become excellent. The room service is every other day which isn't ideal. Also, the TV, while being very large, is not smart. You cannot watch your shows on Netflex, HBO, etc. You may want to bring an HDMI cable to connect your laptop to. The cleanliness was Ok. We only saw a stein on one of the towels during our four night stay. Probably the biggest advantage is the location. It is very close to most San Diego attractions including little Italy, Bolboa Park, downtown, water front, etc. withing 10-30 mins walk. Also, the bay view is quite nice if you are on one of the top floors."

"We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and overall had a good experience. The location is excellent if you want to be in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, with plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance, including Petco park right next door. The hotel has a modern feel, although the bathrooms are beginning to show their age and could benefit from a renovation. Our biggest disappointment was the housekeeping service. Rooms were only serviced every other day, which was unexpected for a 4-star hotel. While fresh towels were provided, it was disappointing to return to an unmade bed and a room that hadn’t been vacuumed or tidied. On one of the scheduled housekeeping days, we were out from early morning until 4:30 p.m. Housekeeping arrived around 4:45 p.m. while we were showering. I asked if they could return in about 30 minutes but was told they finished at 5:00 p.m. I then asked if they could come back closer to 5:15 p.m., but that wasn’t possible. This was disappointing from a guest experience standpoint. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We needed to extend our late checkout because of a flight delay, and they handled the request without any issues. The pool area was enjoyable and never felt overcrowded. It is smaller than it appears in the photos, but we always had no trouble finding a comfortable place to relax. Restaurant/bar could be rowdy on game days but we don’t mind the fun/loud energy! Overall, a good hotel."

"This property is in a very central and convenient location if you are looking to travel both north and south for adventures. Check out the delicious Mediterranean restaurant across the street (Aladdin). There are no frills here, which is why the rate is low. Keep that in mind. We stayed for a week and left early morning and came back late at night. We really only used the bed, shower and mini fridge. The bed was not comfortable. By the last night we were sore. BUT….we knew the room cost was low. Upon arrival our room was clean and that’s a huge factor for us. Cleaning services are not provided during your stay. We kept our own room clean, removing dirty towels and getting clean ones from the front desk. We also emptied our own trash as needed. We requested supplies like shampoo and toilet paper from the front desk as needed as well. We were disappointed that the ice machine for the property was out of order requiring us to spend extra money each day for ice for our cooler. Also, note upfront that breakfast is not included. Just know that extras are not part of the booking here and you’ll be fine. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. There was adequate parking for us each day. We felt safe with the gated courtyard area. There is a pool and hot tub available, but we did not use these opting instead to go to beaches. We would come again and hope the next bed we get is more comfortable."
