The VIEW! Private Cabin By Winterplace Ski Resort

Super Private 4 bed home sleeps 8 with a panoramic (amazing) view of the Appalachian Mountains. Only 8 minutes from Winterplace. 19 miles from New River Gorge Park. Access to entire 60 acre property and trails and fire pits. Located only minutes off Interstate 77 near Ghent. Great cell phone reception. Stars out here are VERY bright. Wi-Fi, White linens/towels, smoker+grill, & washer/dryer. This secluded home is an experience in itself. The pictures never due the view justice. The Mushroom Trail now open - free to guests. Wal-Mart does deliver here

Guests will access the home via a completely private check-in. The door code and map link will come early on the day of arrival via your messages.

Mushroom Trail 🍄 is now open and free to all guests, fire pit location rental included with each cabin booking.

The two best things this mountain has to offer is the stars on a clear night and the sun rises up behind the view and is one of the most beautiful things you'll see all year. When the sun rises it allows you to see just a little further than during the day.

Mushroom Trail 🍄 is now open and free to all guests. It features over 60 different giant mushrooms, giant flowers, and a large natural sandbox to give your little ones something to do. Giant connect 4, & corn hole boards are also on site and free to use.

We keep light pollution to a minimum for optimal Stargazing.

Privacy: Each window features a two layer roman shade that can totally block off view from outside and still allow you to see the view from master bed via the two top windows that are well above anyones view.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This home was absolutely perfect for a relaxing mountain getaway. The views were beautiful, the house was well appointed and very comfortable (especially the beds!). We will definitely be back.

A trip for a local wedding

We were all so thrilled with this beautiful place with these gorgeous views. Although we were here for a wedding, several of us stayed behind to work and linger with coffee in front the windows to see the gorgeous views! It could not have been better and we hated to leave! Was so close to the Glade Creek Farm wedding venue!!!

Perfect!!

I stayed here with my daughter and son in law for 5 nights and it was amazing! The location and the cabin are awesome, we loved how quiet it was. This is the perfect place to rent to relax and get away from everything. We hope to come back some day!

Spectacular Sunrise

Started each day with a beautiful sunrise and ended with star filled skies. The property is quiet and peaceful. The deck was nice to sip our wine after hiking and exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Retreat. It was clean and we had everything we needed to be comfortable while away from home.

Quick Birthday Getaway

The house was beautiful, well-stocked, and had an amazing view! It was bright and spacious for our party of 4. The house is super close to Winterplace Ski Resort. Our host, Anthony, was helpful before and during our stay. I highly recommend this property!

Everything was as advertised. Great view. Clean and great amenities- even bottles of water! I’m sure seniors would love the area. For seniors a walk in shower would be great in his next cabin.

Wonderful mountaintop retreat with amazing views!

We loved our stay at this special property. Beautiful views from the wrap around porch and picture windows in the living room. Cabin was new and well appointed. Comfy beds and bedding. Nice soft towels. We had high winds and snow and we were snug all night long. Steep ladder-type stairs up to the loft if you have mobility issues. Our dog couldn’t figure out how to go back down so we carried her. Nice views from the upstairs loft king bed as well.

The view is breathtaking! I've stayed in properties all around the US and this is easily in the top 5. Clean, comfortable and fully stocked. If you are on the fence, JUST BOOK IT! Trust me Host is super kind and responsive.

Amazing Mountain Top View

Love this place! Love the Mountain View from the deck! I sat there for hours enjoying the sounds of nature and the wonderful beauty of all the colors of the trees. And to sit under the stars and feel the breeze from the mountain tops was breathtaking! We love being able to sit inside the cabin and watch the sunrise too! We just loved it all! The beauty of the outside and the coziness of the inside! It was perfect for us!

Almost Heaven

This was almost heaven in West Virginia. We booked this cabin at the top of the mountain because it’s dog friendly and is located less than 10 miles from Winterplace Resort. We left the Vrbo feeling like it was our little spot and have already talked about coming back in the future. The cabin was clean, spacious and well stocked with essentials. The communication and check in process was easy. We were appreciative of the effort put in by the hosts to make This place feel like home for our little family. It was the perfect spot for our winter wonderland getaway. 5/5, would absolutely recommend.

Wow. This is the best spot in WV

We are completely blown away by the beautiful cabin and views. Everything was top-of-the-line. The couches are so comfortable we napped on them. We visited new river gorge bridge and national park then came back to cabin for quiet relaxing peaceful spot with million dollar views! All the national park spots are about 30 minutes away. Highly recommend this cabin rental. Well worth it!! Not many places to eat nearby but we had an amazing kitchen to cook!!! Check out my tik tok with photos @tammerad

Gorgeous Mountain Get Away

The cabin on this gorgeous mountain top was all I hoped for. It was so beautiful and serene. We stayed for 4 nights. The cabin is immaculate. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom, which is smaller than the master bedroom. But since the master is in the loft and the stairs are narrow and steep and there's no bathroom upstairs, we decided to stay downstairs. And we were extremely comfortable. I can't imagine more than 4 adults staying here. It's lovely, but not very big. Small kids are probably OK. The balcony overlooking the mountains is spectacular. Beautiful sunsets (didn't get up early enough to see the sunrises). I would very happily come back if we came to WV again. When you arrive, be aware that you're driving into what is called Mountain Resort. There are also a bunch of campsites and another cabin. We were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves because we came mid-week. But I didn't know there could have potentially been other people there. Had I known, I'm sure we would still have booked here, but I would have preferred knowing that in advance. Definitely book here. You won't be sorry!

Clean & beautiful views

Recently stayed here for a honeymoon trip and a have a few notes below: - Listing: mostly accurate…only thing I did not find to be super accurate is the “super private” and “secluded” parts of the listing. While the cabin is away from the bustling city and only you have access to your cabin, I didn’t realize the property also has a 2nd cabin feet from this one as well as camping spots. The first night we stayed (a Thursday) it was pretty quiet but Friday night we returned to the cabin to find people parked all over right near us. We didn’t get to use a fire pit as all near our cabin were taken. - Cleanliness: the cabin was very clean and smelled fresh & new upon arrival and is very pretty inside with a very pretty view out the back windows. - Check-in Process: very easy. Having never booked on VRBO before I wasn’t aware of the processes or anything along those lines but it was a very easy process. - Sunrise & Stars: definitely make note to wake up early for the sunrise. Enjoying my morning coffee on the deck watching the sunrise was a highlight of staying here. In the evening the stars were amazing. The first night of our stay I even saw a comet. - Food: plenty to use to cook in this cabin but if looking for food it’s about 30 min away which isn’t terrible at all! Buckley has a ton of food options and the drive is pretty simple. - Beds: super comfy and the pillows were very fluffy. Overall, really enjoyed our stay here and would love to be back in the future!

Lovely Stay in the Mountains

We traveled to this area for a work trip. We brought along our dog and two kiddos (ages 8 and 10). The drive to the cabin was easy, following the directions we were given by the host. Once we got to the cabin, the view was breath-taking. We spent most of our time at the cabin while my husband worked. The trails/paths around the property were lovely. We saw so many deer from the deck and heard wild turkeys, whippoorwills, frogs, and other birds at dusk. We let our kids stay up extra late to see the stars and we are so glad that we did--the night sky stole the show at this cabin. We grilled out for dinner and the grill, which is a pellet grill, was easy to use and made our burgers delicious. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Not much space to eat indoors but we didn't care because we ate outside for dinner and breakfast. Our dog appreciated the tie off provided on the deck outside and she loved exploring on her first family trip with us! This was our first time in a pet-friendly place and the hosts made it easy for us to have our pup with us. We had plenty of space to spread out. There were plenty of linens available as well. The stairs to the loft were kinda steep, but we didn't have an issue with it. The host was very responsive and friendly. We touched base several times and communication was always prompt and helpful. We've already shared this listing with some friends and we hope to come back here again if work brings us back to WV!
