駅から遠いのが最大の欠点です。ロッカーもそれほど大きくはないので、大きいスーツケースを持っていきたい場合は要注意。それ以外は快適に過ごせたので、上記の欠点を受け入れられるのであればオススメします。

Positiv: Die Lage des Hotels ist toll, sehr zentral in 2. Reihe am Ring. Negativ: Check-In dauerte 30 Minuten, da eine Schulklasse eincheckte und nur ein Mitarbeiter die Rezeption besetzte. Vorher nicht erwähnte Renovierungsarbeiten im gesamten Haus. Letzter Meißelschlag um 18:10 h am Anreisetag und erster um 8:34 h am Abreisetag, gepaart mit Winkelschleifern im Nachbarzimmer. Der absolute Horroraufenthalt!

Easy stay, only 10 minute walk to the stations or 20 minutes to the Cathedral on train. The place felt safe and the staff were friendly although they could use another staff member as one person was having to do everything. The room and bathroom was clean.

Leider gab es zu unserer Reisezeit eine große Baustelle in vielen Hotelzimmern u.a. auch direkt neben unserem Zimmer. Wir wurden weder im Vorfeld noch beim Check in darauf hingewiesen. Geweckt wurden wir dann morgens mit Hammer und Flex. Unsere Anfrage bzgl. Teilrückerstattung wurde direkt verneint und auch kein anderes Entgegenkommen.....

Gute Lage, man ist schnell auf den Kölner Ringen mit viel Restaurants und Unterhaltung. Für ein Hostel fand ich das Zimmer ziemlich groß. Wirklich gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Wir hatten mit 4 Männern ein 4-Bett-Zimmer gebucht, für das wir auch rechtzeitig eingecheckt hatten. Nachdem wir unsere Sachen abgeladen haben, sind wir wieder in die Stadt. Gegen 5 Uhr morgens, nachdem wir vom Feiern wiederkamen, lag auf einmal ein vollkommen fremder und dazu noch übel riechender Mann in einem der Hochbetten. Wir wissen nicht, wie er in unser Zimmer gekommen ist und auch nicht, warum die Rezeption so gelassen auf einen derartigen Fall reagiert hat, jedoch ist das mit Sicherheit unser letzter Aufenthalt im a&o in Köln gewesen. Während wir in der Lobby darauf gewartet haben ein neues Zimmer zu erhalten, kam die Polizei zu einer Niederländischen Reisegruppe, die leider ausgeraubt wurden. Aber nicht auf der Straße oder in irgendeinem Club, sondern es wurden sämtliche Wertsachen entwendet, obwohl sie die ganze Zeit in der Hotelbar waren und das Gebäude nicht verlassen haben. Eine absolute Frechheit, dass man als Gast keine Sicherheit für seine persönlichen Sachen gewährleistet bekommt. Nie wieder!

Man darf nicht vergessen, dass es sich um ein Hostel handelt und dafür war es wirklich sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind okay…könnten aber teilweise ein Update benötigen, gerade im Bad/ Dusche. Teilweise laut, aber darauf hatten wir uns eingestellt. Die Lage ist optimal!

We chose a private room for 6 people. It was a very nice, spatial room and price-quality ratio was really good. You have an option to add breakfast for a small surplus as well. Good stay. Definitely recommend :)

Overall pretty good for an hostel. In fact, better than some hotels. Don't count on using the hostel parging. There is only 17 spots and they are book a year in advance. Lucky there is a multi-storey parking very close for 20 euro a day. The only thing that bothered me was people slamming doors very late a night and very early in the morning, and people yelling in the street at night.

Good value compared to others in Cologne
Great option, good value budget hostel, lovely reception area with bar, coffee machines, snacks and live music on the Saturday evening. Friendly reception area staff. Good location for the Christmas markets. We booked a private quad room with private shower & toilet. The room had 2 bunk beds, not easy to get in the top bunks but comfortable sleeping once settled down. Room was too hot and window opening was minimal due to it being 2nd floor. Found a dirty bath towel left on one of the beds. There were no clean towels in the room, just a small bath mat. Beds were unmade, just a bare mattress so we had to make up our beds before unpacking, last thing you need after a long journey. But I’m guessing that’s what hostels are like (it’s the first time I have stayed in one) Overall the A&O Hostel was great, but we felt the housekeeping let it down.
