Cleanliness was the main issue. We arrived to an outside trash can that was overflowing. The inside had a terrible dog urine odor and there was dog feces in the backyard. The fenced in dog area was flooded and there was a hose there pumping water from somewhere into the dog area for our whole stay, rendering it unusable. The back yard was not mowed, with weeds in some areas over 18” high. There were beer bottle caps strewn across the rear porch. The float mat is torn and we didn’t even attempt to use it based on its condition. The hot tub would not heat above 100 degrees and felt more like a warm bath, so it wasn’t used after the first night. There was remnants of dog feces in the enclosed rear porch. The secondary bedrooms had strong odors and we were thankful they were not necessary for our stay. The bathroom was dirty, toothpaste on the back of the door, dirty shower. The baseboards had yellow dog urine staining. The carpets are holding strong dog odor and we felt as though we couldn’t take our shoes off, except when climbing into bed. We even showered with sandals on. This is the second property we’ve stayed at with the same host and this one is nothing like the other. The other property was clean and inviting. This one lacks that feel. Because of the overflowing trash, we had no where to place a pizza box upon departure. This one needs some updating to compare to the one next door.
