“Orion Over the Hills” is a charming renovated apartment in the picturesque Val d’Orcia (Siena - Tuscany). With air conditioning in every room, a kitchen, and two bedrooms with private bathrooms, it is located on the ground floor and is accessible to people with disabilities (with a specially equipped bathroom). It also features a private garden and parking.
Right along the Via Francigena, it is just a stone’s throw from treasures like Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and renowned thermal towns such as Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo.
From the private garden, overlooking the famous rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, you can enter the kitchen/living area, furnished with a beautifully restored and repainted solid wood kitchen, finished with perfect country-style details. The space includes a drop-leaf table with four chairs and an antique sideboard that once belonged to my great-great-great-grandparents.
The two bedrooms are accessible from the kitchen/living area:
To the right, the larger bedroom (Betelgeuse) features a built-in wardrobe niche, a double bed (or two single beds), a writing corner, a smart monitor, and a spacious bathroom also equipped for people with disabilities.
To the left, a slightly smaller bedroom (Bellatrix) has two single beds (not convertible into a double), a smart monitor, and a bathroom with a large, comfortable shower and a sink made from an antique copper basin.
All bedside lamps are equipped with USB/USB-C sockets for charging phones and electronic devices.
The private garden includes a table with an umbrella and, in the evening, offers an incredible starry sky—often revealing the Milky Way—where the Big Dipper and, of course, Orion dominate the eastern horizon for most of the year.
