Clean, good location, friendly staff, basic breakfast.
Nice hostel. Different small hot breakfasts with fruit $3 usd. Nice patio area with beautiful pool.
Pizza and bar on 4th floor. According to reviews pizza is delicious.
We had a nice stay here. The staff were really friendly, the room was clean and it was in a good location. The pool is small and missing tiles but it’s nice to have when you need to cool down
Very historical, unique property. Good staff and restaurant, nice rooftop bar, free breakfast, convenient central location, modern air conditioning but a 224 year old building does show its age.
Nice convenient clean hotel. I hate how you have to wear a wristband as a hotel guest. It’s in all my pictures. Breakfast is good. Towels are old and dirty. Ants in my bed.
Great location and a beautiful hostel. The only things I didn’t like is that there were only 2 bathrooms per dorm and 1 toilet didn’t have a toilet seat
Location and price is amazing. Pizza parlor at the bottom is great, but this is not a clean hostel. We stayed in a private room and it had mold everywhere due to the air conditioner.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Included breakfast was simple but good/fresh. Property was in the middle of all the action. Room is quite warm during the day before the air-conditioning is turned on in the evening. Pictures on the site look a lot more vibrant than what you will see in person.
I had a private room and they were nice and clean. No hot water, only luke warm. The room is clean and comfy. The hostel can be pretty noisy and the street noise as well. Otherwise it was convenient to walk everywhere you should want to go in Cartagena.
We always write what we did like as well as what we didn't like so much. Onto the not so much to get to the AWESOME!
We didn't like that the bed was just a little too hard for my taste. It worked, but a softer bed would have made it a 5. The rooftop bar was small and crowded, and pricey.
We DID like, the pillows were comfy, the balcony. We had a private with a private bath, the shower was hot and huge, the outside balcony was a nice addition, it was quiet and we felt safe there. We would stay there again.
In the middle of the walled city! Loved everything about our room- the bunk beds were large and comfortable. The room quickly cooled down even w the 85 humidity. Our balcony was shared but you hardly noticed your neighbors. They provide towels, have shampoo & body wash. It’s conveniently placed near pharmacy, clothes stores and coffee shops. The staff here are wonderful and helpful! The pool is small but def relaxing with the open roof. There’s no elevator, all stairs but that wasn’t an issue either. Breakfast was filling for us - eggs, toast and fruit! they also have a full bar and pizza, amazing pasta to order as well. Kid friendly as well. Just be mindful that you’re downtown - lots of noise, music, people and traffic. there’s a great nightlife here.

Location is good, everything is near by.
Almost all of the staff not helpful, not attentive, didn’t give clear information. The men were were more attentive.
Received an email from the hotel regarding our check inn indicating that image of our passports was needed, so we didn’t bring them and it was requested, so we had to take an Uber back and forth to get our passports invested time and money, no apologies for this inconvenient we’re given.
At breakfast the food safety of the cook was not proper and the service as well not adequate.
At the roof top were given wrong information and when we asked if we could bring drinks from the fridge of the hotel they never came back with an asset.
Our room on the first night of the stay the bed was not made, and only one roll of toilet paper was in the room, the sink didn’t work well, and the soap of the bathtub was only water. And in the room there was no trash can.
The minifridge was great as well as the prices.

Nice Place No Frills
We had a single room to ourselves and cannot comment on the dorms.
Others have stated the place is a little run down. It is. But it’s still nice. And our room was clean, no frills, and had an excellent A/C. It’s a hostel, not a 5 star boutique hotel. It was great for what we needed.
The room was quiet. The whole place was quiet despite it being the holiday season and the whole of Bogota being at the coast for vacation.
The pool is small. It’s not intended for laps. Be glad there is a pool at all in a hostel in Cartagena. It was clean and refreshing after a very hot day exploring the city. Another post mentioned it closing at 8PM. We were there well past that and were not asked to leave. We were very quiet. Not a large crowd. And we were not drinking or eating by the pool. Maybe that is why?
The hostel is close to all the parts of the city that most visitors come to see. The clock tower, the port to catch a boat to the islands, Getsemani, and the museums of gold and the inquisiton. There are many places to eat and shop nearby as well.
We felt safe the whole time. The city was very busy. People are helpful and the police were vigilant.
There is no hot water. Not because there was something wrong. It is just a fact for most habitations along the coast of Colombia. The weather is such that you don’t really need a hot shower anyways.
The beds and little cubes are great. Some of the rooms at the far ends don’t get much air at night, so try to get rooms a bit more in the center. The stairs are very steep, so if you have issues with climbing stairs this could be an issue. The carbonara and carpaccio were delicious. The watermelon margarita was not great.
