A 1 bedroom, 1 bath with loft, Real Log Cabin retreat. Situated on 5 acres in the Texas Hill Country, is a small gentleman’s ranch, with chickens, (Farm Fresh Eggs available!), turkeys, deer and a plethora of songbirds and seasonal hummingbirds. The owners live on site. Our cabin is wheelchair friendly, non smoking, pet friendly (with extra fee), has a fully equipped modern kitchen, so just bring your own groceries or visit the local grocery store about 5 miles away. We have a BBQ grill/Smoker and the long BBQ utensils, 8 outside chairs to sit around the fire ring to enjoy a small relaxing fire, providing we are not under a burn ban. Equipped with a Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and several USB ports located around the living spaces to keep you connected if you wish. Bedroom has a king size bed, the loft has 2 queen size beds and the great room has a full size sleeper sofa. Easily accommodate 6-8 guest. We provide bed lines and bath towels. With extra parking spot for your boat, we are close proximity to boat ramps on the north side of Canyon Lake. Ramp #23 @ 22100 N Cranes Mill Road is 3 miles. Ramp #22 @ 808 Park Shores Road is 4 miles. Enjoy the outdoors on the patio with a cup of coffee in the morning made from a Keurig coffee marker, or a glass of wine in the evening. NEW UPDATES! We recently installed a REME UV-C light inside the Air Handler as added protection against microbial growth, virus, bacteria and airborne pathogens. We are now accepting dogs, but limiting it to 1 dog per stay. Centrally located between San Antonio and Austin, makes day trips to explore the rich history and fun times both cities have to offer. Also close to several attractions such as The Whitewater Amphitheater in Canyon Lake, Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, The Grist Mill and Greune Hall in Greune, the Famous Outlet Malls in San Marcos and the 290 Wine Tours in Fredericksburg .... (just a few popular votes behind the Napa Valley. ) But most importantly is enjoying the lake, tube or kayak the Guadalupe River, or cycling in the area.

We had a wonderful stay with them. The listing pics showed futons. They actually had a real queen bed and a sleeper sofa. Upgrades from the futons pictured. We enjoyed our stay and had all we needed! Two adults and three kids. Our dogs were also very comfortable and welcome
What a wonderful time!! Theresa was very welcoming and provided a welcome book with everything we could ever need to make our stay very comfortable. The history of the log cabin was heartwarming. I would recommend this home to everyone. Thank you so very much!!
A great stay!! The cabin was beautiful, and slept 5 of us comfortably!! The location was great for our day trips to San Antonio and San Marcos. We started and ended each day feeding and watching the deer, and even had one sighting of the gray fox!!
Our stay was the perfect R&R getaway. My husband and I loved sitting on the quiet front porch and watching the deer in the morning and evening. It was such a relaxing weekend!
The cabin was beautiful, spacious and exactly as pictured. It was very convenient that the kitchen was stocked with just about everything to cook meals. FYI take seasonings like salt and pepper but other than that we loved our stay. The owners are so nice as well. We would highly recommend this location to friends and family and hopefully be back some other time.
We really enjoyed our stay. Cabin was perfect very clean and had a warm and inviting feeling. Loved the company of the deer. Very peaceful location. Definitely will be back!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Beautiful and peaceful. Lots of animals, we loved the hummingbirds and the foxes. It was just very peaceful and would stay again.
We had a great time, it was relaxing, the cabin is beautiful and cozy. Theresa the owner, is very thorough with the information provided and very accommodating. The deer family visiting was a plus. Over all we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.
Our family of 6 booked this cabin for my father’s birthday and Labor Day weekend, and we were so happy we did! Everyone agreed that we would love to return, maybe in the winter to really bask in the aesthetic of the cabin. Very clean, easy check-in/check-out, and beautiful deer outside. It was great to comfortably relax and have the place to ourselves. Would definitely recommend!
The place was nice, clean and quiet I love that the kitchen have all the utensils that you need to cook. The only thing is the unpleasant smell of the water. Other that we enjoyed it.
My friends and I were throughly impressed with this space and the local area. Theresa and her husband were more than kind, offering us food and recommending local attractions. The cabin itself was exactly what we were looking for to escape the big city for a few days. We met some “furry friends” as well… deer surround the property. Absolutely worth the stay!
Excellent. Very clean and lots of thought put into this cabin for the ease of guests. Wildlife was a bonus. (Side note…. Calphalon cookware in kitchen was very appreciated)
We enjoyed our stay in this beautifully wooden constructed cabin.
We could note the dedication put to build this cabin in all the details.
Our stay was very memorable for the tranquility and wilderness experience.
The pictures in the profile of this cabin tell little of the beauty of this place.
It is definetely a place to enjoy with family as a family.
The barbecue experience, the deers, the chickens, the surrounding land marks like the lake, the dam, the winery nearby made quiet an experience.
This was such a welcoming property and perfect for our group of 4. We brought our teen daughter and her friend and our small dog. The teens stayed in the loft comfortably.
I loved sitting in the swing and looking up at the oak branches. We also made use of the fresh eggs each morning. The nearest grocery is about 5 miles, so we brought most of our groceries but were able to get a few items easily.
The stars on the clear night were mesmerizing.
I hope to go back in the future.
We have been visiting a least once a year, more when we can. Have been looking for a nice quiet place just far enough away from the busy part of town. I think we finally found it. We loved the cabin and everything about our stay. Just the right size for 4 adults and 2 large dogs.
The owners Teresa and Rene make you feel so comfortable. They provided us with fresh eggs from their chickens and turkeys that we enjoyed for breakfast.
We had to borrow a couple items for use during our visit that we had no room to carry, and they gladly loaned them to us. Very kind and helpful.
We really enjoyed seeing the mama fox and the deer. as well as squirrels and birds. They even provide deer corn which was a first for us!
Over all the best rental we have had so far for the price. We will be back!
Thank you both for allowing us in your little heavenly spot!
This lovely cabin was ours to enjoy for the week of the eclipse. Although the weather didn’t cooperate in giving us great weather for the eclipse, we still enjoyed the cabin so much. The cabin is set in a wooded lot, serene and peaceful, with deer approaching the house in the early morning. It was immaculate and had all we needed for our stay. It also was just a short drive to restaurants and stores, so not too remote. The owners live next door, but not super close, so we still had plenty of privacy. And Theresa was gracious and friendly, and we loved the eggs from her chickens and turkeys that she shared with us. One thing to note is that the cabin does not have a dishwasher. It wasn’t an issue for us, but I thought I’d mention it for those who might want that. We found the cabin to be a great home base to explore the area, including trips to San Antonio, Fredericksburg, and Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
A very quiet and very comfortable place. As far as cabins go, super clean and roomy. With minor rearranging of seating the young ones were able to catch up on a movie or two. Plenty of outside space to sit around and sip on your favorite morning drink and then settle and embrace the evening’s serene sights and sounds. The owners live on the same premises within view of their beautiful home and we could tell they were readily available for any questions but appropriately gave us all the privacy we sought. They did give us a dozen of fresh eggs; which, were gone the very first morning. Deer did visit in their own quiet ways. A walking trail would have been an extra although plenty of walking trails in the parks and other areas near by. Over all, a choice place to visit and wind down. Hope to return sooner than later…before life gets too much with me. Thanks a bunch Mrs. Theresa, to you and your husband.
We had such a wonderful stay. The cabin was cozy, clean, and absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway. It had everything we needed, and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even helped us out when we needed heavy cream. We truly felt at home and would definitely stay here again.
