"The staff was helpful and friendly, and the room was nice—huge actually. The breakfast was bare bones but adequate. My only real complaints are that the water wasn’t hot enough to shave with and the shower curtain rod was broken so the shower curtain had a 1-foot gap on either end, soaking the floor and making the only-warm shower colder. Nevertheless, it was a good place to stay for a race weekend and more affordable than most any other place in the area."

"Lovely property and well trained informative staff. 2 bedroom suite was like an apartment. Well appointed and beautifully decorated. Whole family was ecstatic about the accommodations. I stay in hotels 70 days a year and this hotel is exceptional. Walking distance to a a few wonderful restaurants options."

"We had a wonderful time and would absolutely rent this property again. We have rented on SML for 30 years, and this is among our favorites. We were amazed at how much we used the pool and hot tub, and the outdoor patio space in general. The shaded seating area upstairs was pefect for all hours of the day. We also appreciated having a separate TV area downstairs, so the upstairs living room and kitchen could be used for reading and playing games. We grilled almost every night and the setup was perfect.The location was great - close to a driving range, general store, and marina with live music and a restaurant. We were able to pick up a rental boat for the week just around the corner. The host was extremely responsive with questions we had prior to our stay, and during. I would highly recommend!"

"Berry Hill Resort is a beautiful mansion steeped in rich Virginia history and elegance. We return several times each year to enjoy the country setting, the wonderful amenities and delicious meals in the restaurants and pub. This time we had the pleasure of seeing the huge beautifully lighted outdoor wedding venue and the wedding party enjoying the day-before festivities. Berry Hill is a perfect choice for a special cherished event or a quiet visit and a stroll around the mansion and grounds, swimming in the pool or exploring the mansion’s vibrant history."
