This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (“Queen‘s Baths“). During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. As the Queen realised the excellent characteristics of the waters, she ordered the construction of a thermal Hospital in 1485. The location started developing around this central Hospital

Lovely house in the center of Portugal

Lovely house in a quiet neighborhood, close to many Portugal highlights. The hosts are truly amazing and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Very good breakfast in the owners' dining hall. It was very refreshing to dip into the pool on a hot afternoon. Altogether, great value for the money!

What a gem of a place. Hosts Celine and Fabian were very friendly and accomodating. They have 3 rooms in a homestay with lovely continental breakfast, including fresh eggs, orange juice, bread, tea, coffee abd cereals. You can use the outdoor kitchen complete with bbq by the pool and they preapre bbq packs at an additional cost. Our room was the smallest of the 3 but we fitted in with 2 large suitcases and hand luggage no problem. Comfortable double bed, great power shower, small fridge, TV and even a microwave in the room Outside nice little 2 seater patio set A lovely rural setting, away from the hustle and bustle of Caldas Da Rainha but within easy reach of the city and coast Pet goats and pot bellied pig greeted us ever day when we got in our car by the pen. Overall, our favourite accommodation during our 10 day stay in Portugal and we would definitely stay again. Highly recommend

Fabian and Selina were exceptional hosts. Their property and rooms are perfect for a Lisbon countryside experience, with a great view and fruit trees. You couldn't ask for a nicer breakfast. When we stayed, they had a pig and some goats that totally added extra joy to our time there. We would definitely stay at Casa Das Margaritas again.
