The hotel is perfect. The restaurant is the best in the area. The managers are super cool. But, most of all, the personnel are the best people in the world. Fun, funny, always smiling, warm, I can’t name it all. We had the time of our life at the Mayai. Thank you guys. Nakupenda.

Nice beach. Food at restaurant was average and over priced. Room was small with very basic amenities - had to ask for tea kettles and coffee. Wall to the adjoining room was not sound proof and next door guests were noisy so hard to sleep at night.

Terrible experience. The location is really nice and on the beach. The food is really terrible and takes forever to come. It was basically inedible. Definitely do not order any fish! The hot water in our room was broken and it took 2 hours to fix. Then it broke again the second day and took another 2 hours to fix while they made us wait in the room and offered nothing to make up for the problem. On our last day we waited more than 2 hours for our breakfast which we then had to send back! There are lots of options in Zanzibar. Mayai is not worth it.

Reception was very helpful. He secured a moped rental, currency, and anything we needed for our room very promptly. Rooms are nice, the resort has lots of areas to relax: balcony on your room, pool, restaurant area, and upstairs from the restaurant as well as the beach. Staff were all efficient and friendly. The food was very good. Local dishes especially were very tasty. Easy to tell that ingredients are all local and fresh. Breakfast is included and always started with fresh squeezed fruit and a fresh fruit plate, and then choose your breakfast from a few egg dishes, pancakes or muesli - lots of food. Quiet location. Easy area to drive the moped around, not far from spice farms and other towns to visit for an hour or 2.

The staff were fantastice. Unfortunately we cannot rate this resort better because the pool was unusable. The large adult pool was being used by a child who pooped in it everyday. We brought it to the attention of the owner who assured us they would address it. The next day the child again pooped in the adult pool. Upon check out, we watched the dad, mom and child trying to remove the poop from the adult pool for the third day in a row. We came to the conclusion that this was a daily occurence. And therefore we could not use the pool. I would suggest a sign stating adult only. And please enforce the rule! It ruined our stay at this resort. There was a kids pool there. Just unfortunate that this child was using the adult pool as his toilet. At least a childs pool would be easier to clean. This family was a long stay. So we witnessed it happen each day. It would be happening for another two weeks.

Partendo dal presupposto che se si viene nella zona sudest di Zanzibar si predilige il relax piuttosto che la "movida' del nord, lati positivi del resort sono le dimensioni ridotte e quindi tutto molto vicino e a portata di mano senza trascurare la tipicità del luogo, ristorante/bar alla carta di buona qualità con prezzi giusti, personale cordiale e buona pulizia. Aspetti negativi, nessun servizio organizzato, ne diurno ne serale per intrattenere in qualche modo il cliente e la parvenza di poco sicuro al di fuori delle mura perché immerso in un villaggio di capanne locali. Se scegliete questo è perché volete assoluto relax e meglio senza bambini, potrebbe essere benissimo categorizzato in adult only (questo un mio consiglio per il resort)

Fantastisk hyggelig personal, maten var bra i Restaurangen som var åpen hele dagen. Rommen er enkla kun med seng, nattbord, innbygd hylle og gratis safe og uteplass eller balkong. Stranden er ikke det beste men det går å bada. All innredning er lokalt tilvirket enkla men helt ok. Likte best at det var rolig og stille på hotellet. Litt tungvint system når man vil ha rommet rengjort då måtte man levere nøkkelen til resepsjonen. Kommer gjerne tilbake.

L’hôtel est incroyable. Il est intimiste, au bord de plage et le personnel est tout simplement aux petits soins. Pour avoir dîner dans plusieurs autres hôtels, je ne regrette aucunement mon choix. Le restaurant est très bien. La masseuse Anna est incroyable. Chambre nettoyée tout les jours si vous le souhaitez. Rien à redire.

Hotellet var helt underbart, god mat, fräscht på rummet och allmänna utrymmen, trevlig personal. Ett extra plus var sällskapsspelen dom hade i restaurangen som man fick låna gratis.
