The Buchan Caves are a group of limestone caves that include the Royal Cave and the Fairy Cave, located south-west of Buchan, in the East Gippsland region of the Australian state of Victoria. They have a total length of between 3 and 4 kilometres (1.9 and 2.5 mi), and six entrances. [2]
The Buchan Cave Reserve has been transferred back to the Gunaikurnai Nation and is jointly managed with the state.
The limestone rock at Buchan was laid down during the Devonian period about 300 – 400 million years ago. At the time, the sea covered this area of East Gippsland which was alive with shellfish and coral. Their remains were deposited in layers and over the years compacted to form limestone. Ideal for families and groups
The bedding hadn't been changed in a while, found hairs on pillows & on sheets. Lucky we took our own pillows & blankets. The DVD player didn't work and I needed to google how to operate the set top box for the tv. Needs better cooling even with the fans & aircon it was still hot in the property ...

Timbarra Hideaway - the perfect retreat
Really enjoyed meeting Joy and Jeff, they talked about their experience of building a straw bale house. Lovely house with artistic details and a calm, tranquil feeling. Beautiful location by the Timbarra river. So quiet and peaceful, this place was all I had hoped for, and more.

Timbarra Hideaway - the perfect retreat

Mingling Waters
Glamping tent was great, really enjoyable. Location is peaceful and easy to find and check-in well described. Property Manager was welcoming and checked in with us to ensure we had what we needed. Bistro was unfortunately closed, luckily we had our travel fridge. Overall we would stay again.
