I had a reservation for a king ADA mobility accessible room what I got was a queen bed and a room for hearing impaired. I mentioned this upon check-in and the front desk person didn’t seem to care and said he didn’t have any other rooms available. I mentioned that I needed a bathroom with the bars and got a bathroom with just one bar next to the shower. Then I used the shower and water just shot out of the handle. I thought that water must be going into the wall since it was just pouring out in all directions. When I get out and look at the outside wall of the bathroom it was soaked and the rug was wet. Who know if that room also had mold. I did go back to the front desk and complained to Valerie the assistant manager. Luckily we were only there one night as it was just a pit stop for us. It was not enjoyable. The back access is amazing and they have plenty of parking. There was an odd smell in the morning which may be due to a nearby paper mill. We ended up getting a refund for the room, but it’s really disappointing that a person with disabilities has to go through this. It’s shameful that there was such a lack of empathy from the front desk staff upon check-in. We had reserved the right room. You shouldn’t be allowed to change an ADA room reservation.
