I RARELY write reviews...especially if it is anything "negative", but I feel as someone who relies on the reviews of others...to do my part here and share our experience so others have some information they can choose to take from or ignore. This rental honestly has so much potential to be an incredible place. The interior design is AWESOME! The kitchen is well stocked, the set up is smart, the location is ideal...it really is a very cool place! And if we had stayed in the spring or fall...I would probably give it a 4/5 (the ants would still make me inclined to give 4 stars instead of 5). The main reason for my lower rating is the lack of A/C. It's true that the listing does make it clear there is no A/C, but I feel it my duty to let others know that this really IS a big deal. We stayed here for a full week and I just kept thinking "I wonder what the owners would do about this if they stayed here for a week during 90 to 100 degree weather?" I think they would immediately realize the windows should open (yes, they don't open at all), install screens to at least allow cool air, possibly install a screen on the one skylight that does open, and simply invest in a small window air conditioner. It was truly almost unbearable. And yes...we opened both doors each evening to try and let some air in before going to sleep, but this brought in a LOT of insects due to the nice yard of trees, etc. In addition, there was a HUGE ant problem throughout our visit. I notified management and they said they'd send someone to spray eventually. We could literally see a line of ants marching into the building across the back alley one evening...was kind of funny, but it also wasn't. Again, I honestly do not like writing negative reviews, but I'm hoping this will make the owners realize it's simply not responsible to rent this space during the summer months under the current conditions it is in. If they will fix this (and work on the ants)...I would quickly give it a 5 out of 5!
