Makai Club Resort

"The front desk was great and check in was smooth, very warm and welcoming. I ended up just going out all night to a night market and getting in late. Unfortunately I had an issue with the room I got and did not realize until late at night in which there was nothing the property can do at that point, but the next morning I let the front desk know and they were able to quickly get another room cleaned in a different building. That room worked out fine, but it did rain and I ended up with a few extremely tiny geckos that were able to crawl in through the cracks. I did do an entire condo vacuuming when I arrived because I was a bit paranoid of bugs and luckily I did. There must have been some guests who ate in bed because there was a lot of things getting vacuumed up around the bed, especially where both side tables were. Im glad there was a vacuum in the closet and I didn't mind vacuuming. One other small thing was that there was a cat paw print on one of the pillows. That was a bit weird, but there were plenty of pillows and a washer/dryer in the bathroom. I also always bring a pillowcase with me. It wasn't exactly the cleanest place, but visually it looked clean overall. Not a very modern condo, but I didn't mind that. It was a pretty large 1 bedroom w/kitchen, dining table and TV/living room. Walking up was a little bit of a challenge with my big suitcase, the walkway was a bit uneven in some areas and it was just stairs to get to the different floors."

"Pros: Amazing resort - photos don’t do justice Lots of trails around the property for a morning walk/jog Beach it’s located on is easy to reach and beautiful. We were able to walk and swim from it down to the pier. Rooms are large and the full kitchen was nice for making food for the kids. Resort lends itself to families and multi-generational travel. Definitely an older crowd at this hotel. Cons: Room only gets cleaned every other day. No early check in - starts at 4PM and that’s firm. 15 mins to most restaurants and no fast food on that side of the island. Fairly secluded - even to get to Anini beach it’s 20-25 min drive Overall- would recommend but only for a few nights then move to a new location to explore a new part"

"We lived our stay at the plantation cottage. It was perfect for the two of us on our honeymoon! The grounds were beautiful and the yard was huge. The home was well cared for and provided more than enough space for two people. Super easy to walk wherever we needed to go in Hanalei! We hope to visit again sometime."

"Our Family vacation stay at Wilikoki was spectacular in every way!! The house as wonderful - clean, kitchen great for cooking, beach chairs and outdoor games available, the beach steps away as well as the town of Hanalei a short walk!! Communication with the rental company was excellent!! Best Vacation ever!!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Absolutely amazing all around. The room is in excellent condition and the resort is phenomenal. Spectacular mountain and ocean views, plus the employees at the resort are so nice and helpful. We loved the restaurants by the main lobby and frequented the cafe every day. We had a wonderful stay."

"This is a great unit in what is a very good resort option for the area. The view is unbelievably good and we enjoyed every moment of it! There’s a short but steep path very close to the unit that leads down to the same gorgeous beach that the 1 Hotel fronts - and you can call a golf cart to come retrieve you back up the hill from a phone trail-side. Khloe was sweet and communicative. The AC was delightful. We cooked daily in the well-equipped kitchen and there are all kinds of thoughtful touches (beach gear; board games) throughout. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!"
Beautiful Hanalei Bay Resort

"We have been to the N Shore of Kauai before so we know that it is high "funky factor". This property is in a good location at the Hanalei Resort and pretty much like we expected but more worn than we expected. The shower was nice and the bathroom and bedroom pretty clean. The room was rather dark and could use more lighting. The floors were wavy and buckled in places from previous flooding and the stand swing on the lanai is falling apart. It would be nice to get rid of it and have two lounge chairs instead. This said, we were comfortable and had a really good time."

"The property location was absolutely amazing. We had stunning views from the lanai and could see waterfalls, rainbows, and birds regularly. If I was rating just on location and views, this property would receive 5 stars every time! The room itself had a few things that needed some maintenance on while we were there, including a leaking refrigerator. Some other things we encountered were leaking air-conditioning units, some lights that were burnt out, some bug issues, etc. However, the host was very easy to communicate with, and he was quick to respond when we reached out with questions/needed help. And honestly, even with the bug issues, I’m not sure if that is as much of an issue with the room as much of just being on a lush island (we’re living in their world now, lol). The host decorated the room/spaces with really beautiful furnishings, and we would stay there again."
