"We had problems with the air conditioning and they couldn’t fix it for a couple of days, we had to move to another room later in the evening the next day and then the next room had a leaky shower, the bar and restaurant staff were exceptional, everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was really good, parking was close but not included. "I stayed at this property as part of a 2 week break to the Scottish highlands and in Particular I bike dthis hotel as it was close by to Beinn Eighe which I hiked as part of this trip. The hotel itself is an older building with a lot of history and culture, it has an interesting lift which is really old and unique and I’ve never seen one like it, the room was old in style and in some parts a little dusty but mostly clean. Breakfast in the morning was a Buffett and this was very good. "

However, the bar only served Bud draft and a Thai draft beer. I was at the VERY LEAST expecting to be served with a local Scottish beer — huge bummer! The Mercure Hotel is located in the middle town, a one minute walk to Victoria Market— huge plus!"

"What an absolutely charming and amazing place. Everything was perfect. The hotel manager and all of the staff were so gracious, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. This is a real gem. We actually tried to extend our stay even though we would have been unable to cancel our next nights accommodations at a different hotel and would have had to eat the cost of that other room. We truly did not want to leave but unfortunately they were all booked up. Would definitely return. "
