We did take a Uber up to the university for a tour because it was a steep uphill climb and we are getting older. I suggest that the city market would be fun to visit if you walk back from the university towards the hotel. "

"Perfect location for tourist activities. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and very helpful. We appreciated their English language skills because our Portuguese is very limited. The hotel is of another era and transported us back in time with its old world charm, although maybe a little faded from its heyday. The many historic photos of the hotel and others in the same hotel group were fun to look at. The breakfast was VERY good with a wide selection of hot and cold options. The room included an entrance area separating the bathroom and bedroom, and were well appointed. We felt pampered. We also had a nice view of the downtown area and beyond from our room. "Very unique room, location is right near University and close to Main Street and old town, Staffa are very friendly, the breakfast is brought into the room, no fancy but good for what are needed in the morning, also the water and shower has multiple heads, with strong warm water it can be a good message, highly recommend to stay so to have unique experience, best way is to get taxi so save energy to walk around later"
