"Nothing fancy, and not as "cute" as the photos make it seem. Walking in there was a bunch of random glass and building materials in the hallway, creaky stairs, etc. The walls/doors are also PAPER THIN so expect to hear other guests if you stay here (i woke up to kids screaming a lot and some ppl playing loud music - they do have earplugs in the room though). There are two shuttered/closed down restaurants below the hotel, which gave it a sorta sad vibe. Otherwise, excellent location, easy 2block...

It's in a great location to both sides of Rockaway and the beautiful boardwalk, shopping and restaurants and bars. The major and huge issue with The High Tide Hotel is its location over the island's loudest bar. It has a horrible head banging noise situation. "The hotel overall was great. New, modern and clean. We had an accessible room, which was amazing for my spouse who is in a wheelchair. The area around the hotel isn’t the nicest. A lot of the properties are run down. The entrance into the hotel isn’t great. There is not a lot of space for a car to pull up for dropping off. Was challenging with getting a cart, loading luggage, and navigating someone in a wheelchair. If another car would have been parked at the entrance I’m not sure what we would have done. The hotel also only has valet parking and it’s not part of the hotel. "
